ready for bread? try high protein low carb bagels

Recommended Posts

I recently tried some low carb/high Protein breads from netrition.com. Today I had half of a sesame bagel from Mirico. They make other bread products, too. You can also get it on Amazon.< /p>

Fiber that offsets the carbs, as well.

Anyway, thought I would share. I've been missing bread.

Anyone else have similar stuff to share?

I found chips that I eat with guacamole. They are called Beanitos..... Two varieties .... One made from ground black Beans, one made from ground pinto beans. I eat the chips and guacamole as a meal, bc I really try to eat just two or three times a day----- my own goal. For Superbowl Sunday, I'll make the homemade guacamole and eat the chips and call it a day! I personally don't like the chips alone, but they are a great vessel for guacamole or homemade salsa.

hmmm..yes bread..I don't miss it anymore, I did morn it for a long time, indeed, I did..Here's the problem with bread (except Ezekiel bread). Im gastric bypass, all the breads made with process enriched flour tend to turn into a ball of dough and clog the entry way into my pouch, and I feel throw-uppy. In four years since my surgery, I have tried every bread I could get my hands on..Including the most delish Portuguese Bread, NOPE, But if I do eat bread, which is VERY rare...I eat Ezekiel bread, NO FLOUR in it, I get it in the organic freezer section. But..ho --hum, I do miss my big sour dough sandwich rolls :/

Oopsie bread is also a good alternative. There are lots of recipes floating around the web...I've attached one for reference.

I'll have to try those. I see where Walmart sells Beanito's . Found them on line too, different flavors. Lots of flavors! Thanks for the info.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
