Were you sleeved during the first two weeks of December?

Recommended Posts

Sleeved 12/9/2014

Started 289

Pre surg 276

Now 236

Have hit a couple stalls but I remind myslf that I am down 50 pounds total in 2 months. But that fear kicks in once in a whole when I get on the scale and it doesn't move. Matching the head with the numbers and the way I look is a challenge. I do feel great. Still want to lose 50 more.

That is AWESOME!!! Keep up the good work!!!

Tina131-

I started keeping a supply of calcium chews in my desk drawer at work and that has helped me remember. It's like a nice little chocolate snack during the day.

I feel great ! I've had no complications at all and I'm grateful for that. I am surprised that I can eat anything and not get sick. This is a good thing but also a bad thing. My surgeon says some food cravings may go away and taste buds will change. I haven't experienced that yet, any of u have such luck ???

@Kel2014 - Congratulations on your weight loss so far! :)

Prior to surgery I used to REALLY like scrambled eggs. I had 1/2 a scrambled egg during the soft food phase and haven't had one since. So yes, my taste buds have changed but YMMV.

Hello fellow December sleevers,

My stats:

HW 368 well before I even thought of surgery.

Weight at beginning of process: 338

VSG Date: 12/11/13

SW: 327.5

CW: 267.0

Size 28 to 20 fitting into 18 REAL soon.

I am blessed in that I was going to the pool regularly before surgery. I'm still going to the pool 3 times a week with weight training during the week as well.

Blondiee,

Thank you. I've become a regular shopper at Goodwill and the Texas Thrift store in San Antonio close to Walzem road. Saturday I made out like a bandit at Texas Thrift. They had a sale going on where the women's clothes were 50% off!!!!!!!!!!! I think the men's clothes were too, but I wasn't looking for men's clothes ; )-- I looked through the ENTIRE plus size rack and got a large plastic bag of clothes for under $57.00!!!!!!!!! I absolutely LOVE it when they make the plus size seperate from the regular sizes so you don't have to look through all the racks!

Not only that, found some "cheater" floweres. They're the old fashioned heavy plastic kind. Put them out by my garage. No watering needed. I'm sure the sun will fade them but heck, they're inexpensive and I'll just pick up some more at another thrift store and recycle the old ones.

Take Care,

Kathleen

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.
