I've traveled on many different airlines. My favorite that I always use now is southwest. Super friendly staff every time! I'd say the seat size are about all the same for any airline, just my opinion

I am in the biz, I work for an airline seat manufacturer, all seats are not the same. There are similarities, but airlines have lots of brands and models to choose from and they also dictate the "pitch" which is the measurement between seats front to back. Notice you have more leg room on one flight more than another? That's because because the airline chose a smaller pitch to get more rows on the aircraft. They are also trending to seats with skinnier seat pan, which would allow what use to be a double column (2 seats across) to become a triple (3 seats across).

Don't get me wrong - commercial aerospace is my bread and butter but the airlines are designing out comfort to allow for more passengers. Which is why I call economy class "cattle class"...

What if we just.suck it up and go first class? We will have more room guaranteed. I flew back from Hawaii on an upgrade. Well worth it

For me 1st class for 1 ticket is more than the cost of getting both tickets in economy. I'll be uncomfortable to save $1100 lol

Me too, everytime! But I have to say a recent trip that took me to South East Asia, was brutal. 26 total hours with over 17 hours in economy, now you why I am so flippant :-D

When I was flying at a size 24, my usual guess for whether or not I would need an extender was the size of the plane/number of seats. If there were 3 seats on each side of the plane I could usually get it fastened, but on smaller planes with only 2 seats per side I'd need an extender. Not sure why smaller plane equals smaller belt.

You know seat belt length determination is a mystery, but I can tell you this - on U.S. carriers I almost always have to request an extender, but on Asian carriers I have not needed them. Exactly opposite of what you would expect, considering comparative weight data between the U.S. and, say, Japan.

So, I am going to ask our companies seat requirements guru about seat belt lengths, see what FAA requirements are applicable, etc. and I will let you know what he says...

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?
