JerseyGirl68 1,172 Posted January 29, 2014 I think the biggest issue is sitting for so long (dont' wan't to risk blood clots so close to surgery), as long as you take breaks so you can walk around a bit, I don't see why it would be a problem. A medical professional may differ. Worst case, call your surgeons office, I'm sure they can advise.
Susie in Lima 320 Posted January 29, 2014 Yeah just make sure that you are able to move around a bit. Also a big thing is PREPARE beforetime a plan of what you will be able to eat, bring stuff with you or know where you will be able to get whatever is on your list of foods because it is easy to screw up when you travel and not be as careful so make sure to prepare your menu and have a plan! Enjoy your time with your hubby! Be safe!
AllisonKara 46 Posted January 29, 2014 It would be better to consult your surgeon. A non-professional suggestion would not do much well if you are in first week post op, and seek to travel.
edpsych78 42 Posted January 29, 2014 I agree with AllisonKara - it's really up to your surgeon. I know that my surgeon did not want me traveling that far from home for a minimum of 6 weeks.
hopeful2 be slim 121 Posted January 29, 2014 then can I take a short flight?
lookn2lose1383837872 3 Posted January 30, 2014 As said before, best to consult your surgeon. I was not allowed to travel at all for 6 weeks. Hope it works out for you.

Cabingirl 55 Posted January 31, 2014 A while back there was, IMHO, a really good thread on traveling and helpful hints/tips and experiences. You can try searching for it (and I do hope Karma comes round for you in the best of ways)!
