Good morning all! I'm new to this site. I had my Sleeve January 20th. I can't believe it has been over a week. Does anyone have any encouraging tips?

Just keep doing what the doctor tells you to do. Get your Protein and Water in everyday. I plan my food for the whole day to ensure I'm not short on protein at the end of the day and don't have enough time to make it up. Start exercising, even if it is only for 10 minutes to start with. The weight will start disappearing! I am 4 months out and down 75 lbs. Good luck.

Remember that things get easier--getting in your Water and Protein won't always be as challenging as it is now. Fatigue will get better, but it takes time. Rest when you can! You're on your way!! :)

Thanks for the encouragement. I'm definitely walking. It is getting easier to get the Water and Protein in. My husband had the sleeve 16 months ago and He has lost 140 pounds. He is a great encouragement and support system.

I'm looking ahead now. Does anyone have any good recipes?

Hello I was sleeved 1-22-14. One week ago today! I'm down 7lbs. I feel run down and sore at the incision sites. I'm not hungry. I'm able to drink well. I'm on liquids for one more week then two weeks of soft foods. I like veg broth Jello and crystal light. nectar Cappuccino protien powder tastes good but many other favors are gross to me now. I'm getting about 300 cal 40g Protein in the last few days. chewable Vitamins and sublingual b-12 and Biotin are tolerated ok too. Sf Popsicles but I've only had half of one. I'm going on vacation next week. I hope I have the energy.

Hi, Kayakerak. Congratulations on getting through the surgery. Everyone continues to tell me everyday gets better and I have to say they are mostly right. I hope you continue to do well. I'm still struggling with Water and Protein intake but today is better than last week. Keep up the good work.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
