mrlddst 0 Posted March 26, 2007 I have been looking around for a couple of days but can't find an answer to my questions. I recently went in for a fill, Thurs as a matter of fact. Anyway, I was at 7cc in a 12 cc band. I wasn't haven't really felt restricted lately so he took me up to 8 but I think it maybe a tad too much. I haven't been able to hold food down since then. I would have it taken out but now I'm thinking this is what I should I be at. Maybe I have been eating too much. I haven't lost any weight this month and since the fill on Thurs, I've drop 7 lbs. I have dropped down to eating Soup, or chicken/tuna salad (not much of it 2 or 3 teaspoons). I had grits for Breakfast this morning and that came up to. Am I too filled? faithmd 14 Posted March 26, 2007 From all I've read here and other places, you do not want to be bringing anything back up! Grits might be too tough so soon after a couple of fills. Are you able to get warm liquids through the band? If you are not able to keep things down, you might need a slight unfill. The goal is to be able to eat and feel full after about 1/2-3/4 cup of food. Not to be unable to eat. Too tight bands can cause problems inside as well as slippage from bringing things back up. Hope you feel better soon!
juliegeraci 7 Posted March 26, 2007 Sounds like you may want .5cc taken out.

I would say that you have to much in right now. Have the dr. drop it back to 7.5 cc and see how you fill. Any vomitting can cause a slip and that is not good. Have you called and talked to your dr. yet? What did he say?
mrlddst 0 Posted March 26, 2007 I haven't talked to the doctor yet. I talked to another local bandster and some friends that see both of us all the time. They say that they always felt that I could eat wayyy more than her so now maybe what I'm feeling is true restriction. I also thought that I would give it until tommorrow. This is how today went. This morning - Protein Shake (after a vitamin) - made it my job parking lot and it all came back up. Tried a hot tea to settle my stomach afterwards and I couldn't swallow much. lunch (feeling better) - I ate the cheese off of the cheese pizza, I was weary of the crust. Ate a baked potato, I had no problem. Got home around 5 - 3 teaspoons or chix salad with crackers and I'm managing. I will call tomorrow and have some taken out. Elisabethsew 50 Posted March 27, 2007 I think that's a wise decision. You've got to be able to keep hard Proteins down and you don't want to damage your esophagus or band.
niki 1 Posted March 28, 2007 After a fill my doctor always tells me to stay on liquid diet for a couple of days to give some time for the stomach to settle down after the fill. You seem to be having some «hard» food (chips, crackers???). Take it easy on yourself. Hope you'll soon feel better. niki
mrlddst 0 Posted March 28, 2007 Well my doc told me to stick to liquids for 24-48 hrs (fill was thurs). which I did however I was unable to eat after that. I am happy to report that my band is cooperating with me now. I am able to chew and swallow solids
Dreikalina 0 Posted April 1, 2007 I was told that it can actually take some people a couple of weeks for a fill to "heal" and for the patient to go onto solid foods. I know this because I am opne of those types. Sucks, though.
mrlddst 0 Posted April 1, 2007 I'm feeling much better a week later! It took a while but I can finally eat solids with no problem. Now I can't eat much but I'm not throwing up anymore.
