1 month & 1 week post op

Recommended Posts

Just checking in! Hello everyone and I'm so excited to share that I'm down 30 pounds since my surgery! That's 70 pounds since my weight loss journey has started! I am finally on solid foods and though eating out is a challenge, nothing tastes better than fitting into my old jeans...some of them are even too big! Ok so I have a question..

I'm finding it difficult to see myself losing weight. I can feel it but when I look in the mirror I just don't see it which is rather odd. Anyone else have this problem? If so how did you cope and what did you do to see differently?

Totally ubderstand the feeling.of not accepting it yet...I have gotten there now, but it took a long time. I have lost 40 lbs in 10 weeks. I started eating frozen yogurt and the loss slowed a little-like yogurtland kind! Uh oh! ;) I did not see the loss until literally like a few days ago. It's not yet the loss I am looking for but considering its only been 2 1/2 months-I like the results. So today I put on a suit that had been sitting in my closet due to the way it clung to my thighs. Would have not fit me pre op, but now, almost 2 sizes down I was a size 20 suit, this one is an 18 and the pants are too big, like fabric hanging off. I wore it today and got like 5 compliments from the team. I was like wow-it is fully recognizeable now, its happening. Bummer is my bra size is down too, I am wearing a bra size down and on the lowest hooks!! I will have to start exercise soon since I feel flabbier. Not sure why..oh and I have to use a ton more lotion than I used to. Whats with the dry skin?? Maybe less omegas or fats in the diet? Finally adjusting in the bedroom. Sex is better now but for a little while was a bit uncomfortable with the incisions. My tummy still hurts sometimes. I get a stomach ache if I eat too much. I am learning, but when I am stressed I still try and eat but my pouch doesn't really let me over eat. Amazed by the new intensity of the flavor provided in tea. Once the sugar wears off, or gets flushed out, its like your palette totally changes. I have such a newfound love for tea. It's weird what happens when you stop eating like crap.

I know the feeling, I realized it when I went shopping for clothes and I was able to wear size 6 and I said to my husband do you believe it and He said to be I can see it. :)

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Am feeling this right now. My surgery date is 4/1. Sign the consent tomorrow. I feel like I overloaded myself with too much info, too many opinions. Got to the point where I was wondering if I should do this. Then I thought of my reasons for taking this step and that settled my nerves. Still get moments of doubt but am striving forward. Am just going to follow my book from the surgeon. Joined this because I was told by my dietician that I should do this for support
