When did you stop losing?

Recommended Posts

I'm 2 months out and on a 3 week stall (not losing inches either) :( I'm exercising 7 days a week (I change up my routine). Eating strictly lean Protein, veggies & whole grains (600-800 calories daily). I get in all my fluids & protein and I take Bariatric Fusion Vitamins 3x a day. I journal everything. I'm not sure what more I can do. Surgery date 12/3/13 sw 230 cw 200. I'm terrified this is all I will lose. Open to any suggestions.

I'm only 11 days out and have been stalled the last week, oddly enough. I don't think there is any thing to do except keep on course

How intense is the exercising? Maybe you need to up your calories a little in case your in too much of a deficit (ie - starvation mode). I found that If I went to the gym 5+ days a week that my weight loss slowed compared to going every other day while on 800-1000 calories a day. I've found that this is what works for me.

You need to adjust your calorie intake until you notice a loss. You're most likely making your body go into stsrvation mode. Its not going to give up anythibg if it thinks you're starving.

Also.. I went through a 7 week stall.. it just happens sometimes. But dont starve.. change

For the 1st 9 months post-op, I panicked every time I hit a stall. Now I know that if I stick with my exercise and diet that worked before, it will work again. It just takes time for my body to adjust.

You will continue to lose weight, just stick to what you know works.

Very intense, sweating bullets, can't talk intense. I will try upping my intake. Easier said than done. Thanks guys!

You could try exercising less instead of eating more.

There are a great many reasons to exercise, weight loss might not be one of them.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
