I hit 80 lbs this week and am so excited!!! SW 267. CW 187. Yay!!!!!!!!! My goal was 100 lbs but the OB/Gyn suggests a minimum goal weight of 150. Either way I'm on my way. :) this has been so exciting and I feel so good. I had my 6-mo blood work drawn today and will see the Dr April 10th. I really feel everything will be looking GREAT!!!!!

You look great. My biggest fear is a leak, I have been following my doctors food schedule exactly & waiting 6 weeks to do gym, I'm really freaked out about leaks lol

I was scared of a leak at first-especially because I had a swollen belly for weeks after surgery. It took almost a month for the swelling to go down.

Better safe than sorry!

Are you adjusting to your new eating/drinking/protein plan?

I'm walking around my neighborhood 3x a day. Protein hasn't been to hard, I really like the punch flavored Isopure, when it's really cold I think it's similar to punch Gatorade. I can't really eat Proteins yet. I do protein fortified oatmeal for Breakfast.< /p>

I'm eating all real foods now but still drinking my Protein Shakes in order to get in my Protein. Plus they add Fluid and I like the way they taste. I am eating a lot of fish and chicken and I'm ready for something very different. I just don't know what My reflux is pretty bad and even though I am taking protonix, I'm still in pain. Do any of you have that problem? It really limits putting any spices in my food. :-( And we know how us Mississippi girls like spice in our food.

I have reflux occasional & take Nexium, but only like 3 times. Maybe try eating only one food at a time & see if you get reflux? That way you can figure the cause. I don't get chicken for 2 more weeks. I love my chocolate protein shakes, I also bought some flavorings do I can change them up ;)

Anyone attend support group meetings held by you Bariatric Surgeon office? Mine is held the first Tuesday of every month. I went but I don't know if I'll be returning. First it's kind of far from my house about 40 minutes, second it's held at 6 PM. I loved hearing the success stories of veterans Sleevers, but I get that here on fb. Question and answers session was nice since the answers were relevant to my surgeon and his recommendations.

I was sleeved by Dr Avera on September 24th! The entire clinic is awesome!!!

Please keep in touch-I don't live on the coast but try to get to an occasional support group.

My biggest regret is not going to more-I find them valuable!!!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
