Either too much fill- or drink done hot tea to relax it. Whenever I feel right that helps!

I love the tea! It does help. Now that I had an unfill, I really keep an eye on what I eat and remember my lap band is a tool.

Katie Keane

NY

I am a 2 year vet and 70 years old (very young and attractive one Ha!.) I started out using on line support in the beginning but didn't use it a lot. My LOSS!

Have lost 65 lbs. 1. Goal was HEALTH very necessary. 2. Goal was 3x to XL to shop at Chico's. No Further or that bit of attractive would be gone. The eating process has been a real hassle. A lot of

upheaving for 2 years.. Had never done a let out till past fall. No problems with weight. Did another, no problem.

One of the reasons for adjustments was lack of nutrient consuming. I was bad in this area. I use the powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury Protein powders. The best tasting for all sorts of ways to get in Protein. But veg and fruit I was lacking. I am having a problem with hair loss and now bad acid reflux. Have started doing some juicing for the veg problem.

Would love input from all on these subjects. Thanks guys.

Well, Katie, I too am attractive! I have now come to view my lapband in the same way I look at menopause. The bonus rounds just keep coming! I could not eat any meat, fruit or veggies for 3 1/2 years. I only recently had my first hamburger( no bun) in over 4 years. I seem to do better with raw veggies though. I don't like much fruit, so I guess juices would be a good choice. It seems to go in cycles with cans and can nots. Even my acid reflux gets better than worse. I have noticed that I can absolutely never eat anything after 5:30 without terrible acid reflux. Hair loss I have heard is too little Protein so the shakes should help that. Now a new bonus round for me is esophageal spasms. Yikes! Those are hellacious! It's hard, Katie, staying this attractive isn't it? Keep me posted!

I don't won't to discourage you with my story but if your problem is the same as mine maybe this will help. I was banded May 2010. About a year ago I started having reflux problems and was throwing up. My bariatric doctor did some test said my stomach had slipped up to the pouch. They took out all the Fluid and waited a few weeks thinking my stomach would go back down. They started refilling band slowly and everything seemed fine. After a couple fills reflux started again. Again took Fluid out. Again started to refill. This went on for almost a year. I was to a point where I threw up almost everytime I ate and was not sleeping at night because the reflux was so bad! I can't express how bad it was. I took protonix and presciption strength zantac daily as well as ate tums all day. I didn't eat past 6 sat up for several hours after eating. Slept on a wedge pillow. I tried it all. I had very little fluid in my band and the Doctor wanted to empty it for the 3rd time. Finally the bariatric nurse stepped in on my behalf and convinced the doctor to do surgery-she was convinced the band needed replacing. On Feb 4th I had my surgery. It turns out I had a slippage and the band needed to be replaced. I am 3 weeks post op and feeling great. At one point I debated on telling them just take it out and try to live without being rebanded. I am glad I didn't and now I am back to losing the weight that I gained while going through this fill/unfill process. I hope you don't need surgery, but you might want to ask you doctor or nurse if it's posssibly a slipped band.

It sounds like you really had a bad time. I am so glad that you are doing better. I did have an upper GI and my band has not slipped. Before I had this surgery 4 years ago, I was a little worried that they only had 5 years of problems and statistics to go back on. So now, I guess it's a little more time but still not long enough for a patient to have a heads up on the "could happens". I think it's a learning experience for them too. They are learning daily from the veterans.

Also I noticed that whatever happens, doesn't last. Eating good, vomiting, pain,

No pain, acid reflux, no acid reflux, it all seems to be in the moment of 3-6 weeks. Take care and stay well!

Thanks for comeback on this subject. I have cutback on an afternoon coffee

and a nite- time wine OH SCHUCKS. And the problem has subsided. I also think it has a lot to do with empty stomach and It leaves room for acid to build. I have added a half a milk Protein in the afternoon and I think that is helping. Maybe I can add the wine back YEH in a week or so. It's a lot of trial and error. But very worth it. These years have been the happiest in my life even with all the ups and downs. I wish this had been around when I was 30. Thanks you three.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.
