Tatty Head 0 Posted March 25, 2007 Hi everyone , My name is Julie i am 30 yrs old 18 stone (252 pounds) 5ft 3 ins tall . I would dearly love to be banded i have been looking at the easyband but i am not sure where to begin i haven't even booked a consultation yet its hard to know where the best place to go for this procedure is . I am in England and ideally would rather stay in England for the op but i believe that it may be less expensive abroad . I have tryed researching and recieved tons of glossy brochures but they are all vague about prices recovery and none of them mentioned these pre op liquid diets i have found alot of information on the site already and am amazed at the success stories ( hope i will be one soon  ) Any advice for this nervous newbie greatfully appreciated many thanks Tatty Head XXX
HarleyNana 10 Posted March 25, 2007 I have no idea what the surgery costs in England, but here in VA, two years ago, it was $16,750.00 out of pocket for me, and then fills can be quite expensive too, especially, under flouroscope, without insurance. Good Luck, by the way, I don't regret spending a dime, I love my band.
faithmd 14 Posted March 25, 2007 Easyband isn't in the US yet, I'm not sure that it's in Mexico, either. There's a thread around here about it. I'll go find it.
faithmd 14 Posted March 25, 2007 Here's two, Tazze started them both, one in the UK forum, one in pre-op/post-op. But there are different responses to each. Hope this helps! http://www.lapbandtalk.com/easyband-t31658.html?t=31658 http://www.lapbandtalk.com/easyband-t31659.html?t=31659

edieparks 2 Posted March 29, 2007 Hey Tatty our stats are almost the same. I am thrilled with my band . Good luck on the finance part. I was spending at LEAST $140 a month on junk food. That is how I justified my self pay surgery. edie
lisasparkle 0 Posted March 29, 2007 Hello! My best friend and I contacted ELYZEA and had a consultation in Manchester (also available in London) and are having our lapbands fitted in Belgium next Tuesday. It's cost us £3950 each plus £40 for the original consultation. We had to wait less than a month from consultation to op. date. UK prices start from around £6900 so it's definitely worth going abroad - plus Belgium claim no MRSA and virtually no secondary infection! What a bonus compared to our hospitals! Let us know what you do!!
Tatty Head 0 Posted April 1, 2007 Thank you all so much for your welcomes , I feel my decision is made after reading all the success stories and weighing up pro's and con's this definitely sems the best idea for me i am quite excited about the prosepct ! I have a week and a half to wait until i see my gynae and i am going to see if he feels it's a good option (as i suffer with pcos ) and if he says yes then i will be calling for a consultation and hopefully getting ready for my brand new start ! This has been an invaluable mine of information for me so i will be sure to add my journey to the site too ! Thanks again Tatty Head XXX
