eyoung hope all went well for you. Welcome to the family!

And I am 10 weeks post op and I feel fantastic!! Sometimes I also forget I had surgery but then I see those big jeans that I can no longer wear without looking like a thug and I know I did the right thing and I am thankful!! Good luck to all!!

I have to say...I really had my doubts I'd feel normal again.

Here's a little of my journey. Day after surgery the leak test revealed I had a sleeve that was swollen shut in 2 places. Had a steroid shot and they didnt seem to be bothered anymore by it.

Weekd passed and dense meats made me vomit. At 10 weeks post op I could only eat 2oz at a time.

I went in for my 3 month check up and was told I had a slight stricture. Its why I had felt like crap most of the time...which was due to not being able to consume much. I was weak, walking across my living room would make me darn near pass out.

I'm now 14 weeks and thanks to double dose of prilosec, I'm now able to truely eat.

dinner for the last week has been an amazing salad. I've now been able to have more than 400 calories per day. Im averaging 800-900! I feel amazing now. Took me 14 weeks. I do not get light headed, my stamina is slowly returning. I'm taking a Water jogging class and using the elliptical! The last 4 days in a row, I've consistently hit 72oz of propel zero per day.

I didn't think I'd ever feel normal again. But here I am. I do. Love my sleeve.

Love the support this community has given me!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
