On feb 7th will be my one month post op. The first two weeks I lost 15 lbs... Now I've gained 4 lbs! My doc gave me no restrictions on food except steak and tough meat, which I haven't consumed. I make healthy choices... For example, I will chose salad over pizza or grilled chicken instead of fried. Anyone else going through or have gone through what I'm going through? Thanks! ❤️

Oh, wow, that's no fun at all. But sometimes the weight can go up or down a pound or two on any given day. This could be part of "the three week stall" we've heard so much about.

How is your Fluid intake? What are your potion sizes? Are you writing down what you eat and tracking calorie/protein/carb intake? Are you drinking Protein shakes to supplement the nutrients for what you're eating? Are you constipated?

It's definitely worth tracking those things and taking the information to your doctor during a follow-up to see if there's a way you can kick your weight loss back into gear.

The main thing-- don't let it stress you out. Develop a healthy eating plan and stick to it! You can do it. :)

I haven't been tracking... I will start doing that today. I am constipated but not as bad as I was when I was on pain meds but it's still going on. I am just drinking chocolate whey isolate shakes in the morning. I can usually take about a cup of food or less but def no more than a cup.

I would track/log everything for a few days to see if there's room for improvement. Make sure you're getting your Protein in and Water. You might want to try upping a each a little once you get your baseline.

Also, how about exercising? You you doing anything?

It seems early to be able to eat anything, at two weeks i was still on pureed food. My plan says don't exceed a half of a cup of food per meal. Are you making sure that you eat Protein first, it will make a difference. Most days if I eat my Protein first then veggies I have no room for any starch or anything else. Also it is important not to drink a half and hour before or after you eat. You may want to also check the calories and carbs on the Protein shake you are drinking because not all are made equal. I use powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury and this has 22 protein and scope is 100 cal and there is zero fat and 3 grams of carbs. This is the Protein powder my doctor's office allowed on the pre diet.

But keep chugging along and it will come off. I did stall at 3 weeks out but i keep going and it started to move again and now at 6 weeks out I will still have a few days I don't loose anything and then it will move again. As alot of people on her say that this is not a race its a marathon.

Another good idea is to weigh and measure everything it helps alot because some foods are more dense than others.

One way I look at my eating challenges and Portion Control is scientifically: You cannot control that which you do not measure.

I do work out at least 3x a week so I guess I will up that to 5-6 days a week. I just went grocery shopping and got all Proteins, no carbs. I just need to stay positive and be patient

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
