I don't drink much Water at allllllll but I had a room temp/cold Water problem after my op felt like stones hitting my tummy so I drank warm water *ick in hospital and Decaf tea at home so I drink A LOT of decaf tea still.

exercise not nearly as much as I should at alllll again lol

also I do tend to forget to eat middle of the day but I always make sure I drink a shake in the middle of the day because I noticed I do that.

its kinda hard sometimes to remember to eat when you don't actually feel hungry ever!

I don't track. My doctor told me I should start doing this at least every now and then to make sure I'm hitting goals.

I still catch myself eating too fast and not chewing well enough.

I eat while reading on the computer.

Oh yeah, I still find myself doing that too sometimes.

Oh and I heard you shouldn't drink out of a straw, but I have been doing that. Haven't noticed anything negative from it.

I'm 6 days post op, and one of the few with no problem with fluids. I think I probably hit close to 80 oz yesterday. I honestly can't tell my tummy has been shrunk.

Something I should be doing more is walking. I'm still getting light headed when I'm up for a few mins, so I often don't bother

Oh my gosh, I licked 3 Doritos & I liked it!!!

No, I didn't eat them, just licked them. I was desperate for some flavor. Old habits die hard! I might add, the dogs loved the Dorito chips :)

Excercise, of course, but I'm also not taking my Calcium chewables - too chalky!

Water is tough. I am up to 56 oz. today so far...I chew gum. Last week I ate 2 corn chips, but I tracked them. They didn't sit well in my tummy. And I literally fantasize about the day I get to start drinking coffee again. It's not healthy. I ordered a bunch of new K Cups today. I CAN NOT WAIT! :)

snack, snack and snack! Too much of it. Not enough Water, at all! I had kettle corn at the movies. I paid for it dearly. I had my first, and so far only, dumping moment! Needless to say, I won't be doing that again anytime soon. I also started my solid food phase a day early! Ugh! Sounds bad when I list it out. ????

My skin is not great.....especially in the upper arms and inner thighs. My husband says working out will help with the excess skin, but I am not convinced!! I think that plastics is probably my only realistic option, but the $ is not something I can do either now or in the near future!! Good luck!!

I had/have a couple...

coffee - I admit, I'm a junkie. Early on I wasn't supposed to drink caffeine. I would drink a real coffee 1-2 times per week. Now I'm approved for one real cup per day...some days I have 2.

I had conflicting programs since I traveled out of the area for surgery - my surgeon was aggressive in introducing real food. My local doc wasn't. I kind would kind of pick and chose which plan to follow.

Currently, I'm supposed to be doing weight training - I was approved in late-December...I haven't done it yet.

An interesting story...the local doc that headed up the seminar I attended when I first started to explore WLS was a sleeve patient himself. I noticed when he walked in he was carrying a Diet 7Up. When he was reviewing the sleeve restrictions he said, "You can never chew gum. You can never have a soda. Blah blah blah" When asked how he can be drinking a Diet 7-Up he replied, "It doesn't bother me." When I went to my one on one consult with him, he threw out a piece of gum when he came in the room. Classic "do as I say, not as I do"!

My surgeon is so strict on calories. At 10 months out and exercising 5/6 days per week he thinks I should be consuming only 800 calories per day and to not deduct any calories burned through exercise. I think he is nuts. I am running, lifting weights or doing and hour on the elliptical. It is almost impossible to stay at 800 calories. I am more in the 1100 calorie range but burn 250-600 calories per day with exercise. I am happy with my weight loss. In 10 months since surgery I only have 9 more pounds to loose to be a "normal" BMI. The effect this has had is I probably already would be normal BMI but I'll take it.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
