GALLBLADDER QUESTION

Recommended Posts

So all day today I have had a throb or a pinch that comes and goes. It is not to bad. It is like a 3 on a scale of 10. It happens like every 5 to 10 min and really is not painful just irritating. My concern is it is right under my ribs on the right side around the upper stomach area. I called my doctor bu it was late in the day. They called me back and left a voicemail that I need to go in for an ultra sound tomorrow. I am 6 months out.

My questions is for anyone that has had their Gallbladder removed. Did it start off like this and then get more painful or was it like bam and hurt right at first. I hope I don't have to get it removed. I am down 100 pounds in 6 months and I know that rapid weight loss is one of the causes.

Anyone had this?

Sounds like gallbladder/ duct spasms. It can absolutely start like that, or as just a bit of nausea, or as a full blown "SOB GET THIS OUTTA ME" kneeling on the floor crying kinda pain. Gallbladders are tricky like that

I had my gallbladder out right before I had the sleeve, what you are experiencing does sound like the start. But the ultrasound will tell you right away. The Gallbladder surgery is a piece of cake. and trust me. you do not want the attacks getting worse, if it is suggested that you get it removed.. do it. That was the most debilitating pain I have ever experienced. Best of luck.

You do not want to mess around with a gallbladder. I had pain like you are experiencing for a year prior to surgery and was misdiagnosed as having pulled the muscles between my ribs by lifting my son. 3 1/2 weeks after sleeve the pain increased from a 3 to a 7 and then hung out at an 8 for several hours.(10 being natural childbirth, 9 dislocating my hip). It turned out I had a gallstone over an inch across, and that would never go away on its own.

It did set me back as I had it removed when I was 5wks out from sleeve surgery, but I am 4 weeks since removal and am truely grateful to not have that pain again. Iai am just now getting back into my routine of walking every day and have no stamina yet, but am working on it and getting better every day.

I do have 2 BMs a day as apposed to once a day or every other day, and am rarely constipated now. It took awhile to be able to eat fatty stuff, and I notice I am prone to diarhea after say sausage and cheese, but no other difficulties so far.

Don't wait, have that sucker taken out. I'm glad I did!

Be aware of a condition called bile acid diarrhea which can occur after gall bladder removal. If you start having diarrhea every day, ask your doctor about Questran. I suffered for 7 months before I got a proper diagnosis and sweet relief. I am back to being a once a day girl.

that's how mine started then the puking and the pain, then the pain increase to higher and higher and higher.

it gets pretty bad never had a baby but to me it was like I was in labour or what I assume it feels like anyway plus puking.

you just can't get a comfy pain reliving position when its kicking in a pain train press it lean on it pile pillows up and lay on them nothing!

I dealt with mine for 5 years no doc would touch me too big till my wls doc said no problem he does wls so can do the gall bladder op no problem that's when I was first asked about wls and he told me if I ever wanted it to come back to him which is what I did a few years later.

wouldn't wish that pain on anyone it sends you nuts!

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
