What do you feel nervous about? Are you scared? I feel like I should feel differently. Lol. I'm excited for it to happen... but I don't really feel nervous/scared about the surgery. I think once I do my pre-op done, maybe I will be more nervous.

I'm scared but more excited. I try not to think about what could go wrong because I can't control that. I just have to let it go. I do my best to focus on the good things to come following surgery. I bought my daughter tickets to a concert today for her 10th birthday and the concert isn't until October. All I could think was that by then I won't be embarrassed to barely fit in the seat!! :)

I'm nervous because of the anesthesia! Lol. It's always been so weird how fast they can put you to sleep! My awesome doctor and the staff that work alongside him, tell me it's just a quick little nap they will take care of me. But I feel so idk shaken. I guess prayers and faith that God will see me through is all I need but I'm still nervous. And congratulations to all of you!!!!!!! I'm excited to share this journey with you all and can't wait to hear more about your journey!

And lol you're going to fit in the seat and be just fine! Your daughter is going to be like my mom is hot! Lol.

I'm also nervous because my mother, got the gastric bypass 10 years ago and had so many complications. :'/ she almost passed away at one point! But my aunt had the sleeve done and she looks amazing no complications!

That makes a lot of sense. I had the Essure procedure done in September last year and it was the first time I had been under anesthesia since getting my wisdon teeth out - something like 10 years earlier. I was nervous then about the thing going in my hand. Now, I am kind of freaked out about the catheter and the breathing tube - but I guess I try not to think about it. My other concern, which I try not to think about, is what if I die? I haven't told any of my family that I'm doing it. No one knows this is about to happen. So I guess I try to avoid these thoughts and I suppose I'm really being dishonest. I am nervous too, I just try to think about how excited I am instead like vdub. The more I think about it, the more impatient I get. The days are passing so slowly it's like watching paint dry.

It's not if I could die more like will I wake up? Lol I don't know I'm weird. Lol my boyfriend says I'll be fine and he will be there with presents when I wake up. But I'm still nervous lol. I'm nervous and excited all at once lol.!

I had my surgery here in NY on the 18th it was over before I even knew they started which was awesome! came home 2 days after , slight pain from the gas but not much in my stomach more in my upper shoulders walk walk walk makes you feel better. Now 2 weeks have gone by and 12lb down the only issue I'm having right now is wanting something to crunch on so ice chips or ice pops cut up are filling that need.

Don't stress the surgery it's fast and pain is little

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
