So I am just over a month out and my head is saying STOP eating and drinking! And I say it's my head because I feel fine, no nausea, I can eat all my soft and puréed food and actually like my shakes just fine. But I am tired of constantly thinking about the next tiny meal and the next 20 oz of Fluid. It's definitely a full time job. I just want to eat when I'm hungry and drink when I'm thirsty...which is never because I haven't stopped putting something in my mouth for the past month. Anyone else actually get sick of eating? (Did those words just come out of my head?). I'm not whining, just wondering if I'm a total freak :)

No actually it seems to happen to all of us at some point...At the beginning I did everything by the clock and it felt like I was eating or drinking fluids all the time...

As time passes you will worry about other things like whether you get enough Protein or Water in..Or did I eat too much, or wait, I think I could eat more and now I have to hope that the restriction is back..How do I do that...

Then it's I didn't lose much weight this month and crap I stalled and now I am up 2 lbs.......This is not working............

But it is working and the plan is in place and if you don't abuse it it will go the distance...Your head is starting to throw obstacles in your way........Don't let it.....K

I feel that way often. Especially when it comes to drinking. I'm just not thirsty! But I know I need to get a certain amount of Water in so I drink a small amount all the time. I know our plan days to not force it... But if I don't somewhat force water I wouldn't get it in

I think like everything else you have to think a lot about it in the beginning but then it becomes habit and you don't have to think too much about it. Enjoy this time when you are not hungry and don't necessarily feel like you have to eat because for most of us we do start getting hungry again. For me hunger is not like the old hunger pains but I just start feeling a little empty and no I have to eat. Again just take advantage of the time when you are not battling hunger, stalls and just general slower weight loss.

In the beginning I did everything on the clock because that was the only way I could get everything in, especially with the 30 minute rule (no drinking within 30 minutes of a meal). Also, if I waited until I was hungry, I wouldn't eat...ever.

I'm 10 weeks out today and I can only tell you how I feel now - I am not as concerned about the clock as I was in the beginning. It's become a habit. I will feel hunger from time to time, usually the day after a really hard workout or a very active day. I think that's my body's way of saying, "You need fuel." If I feel hunger that has a little "burn" with it, it's probably acid and I take an acid reducer.

Totally relate. I am about 5 weeks out so started this process mid December when routinues were non existent with winter break, etc.

Now that I am back to full day work (I work from home), I am definitely not eating often enough. I get in Breakfast and lunch but with the portions....I really need the in betweens but Im not hungry. And it takes me a while to finish certain things so I feel like I am eating all the time and grazing was a past behavior I need to rid myself of...yet it starts to feel like that.

I am drinking way more Water than I ever did and I feel like I am drinking all the time yet end of day...when I tally it all...I cant seem to get more than 48 oz which falls short of my goal.

Everyone has said to set an alarm for the food but I just hate the concept of that. I am getting my Protein in, my carb and fat grams are much lower than the max goal for the day and my calories seem in line with what others report. Sometimes after dinner and logging...I see I am falling short in Protein but then its nothing that a Protein Drink doesnt solve sometime between dinner and bedtime.

I am five weeks and a few days out. I haven't lost in about 2 weeks, I know that's normal but dang it messes with my head! I'm tolerating everything I eat very well and am more easily recognizing "full". I am getting better on hydration but I have to start hydrating as soon as I wake up to get it all in. I'm hovering around 50 - 60 ozs. I did the treadmill for 30 mins 2 days ago and will again tonight. I don't have the energy for much more than that. Vitamins are going ok too but really thinking of stopping the chewable and switching to 2 petite women's one a day formula.

The no loss thing is my biggest worry right now. I find myself wondering if this is where it stops working for me. I'm changing some foods to see if it it helps.

Sounds like your 3 week stall was right on schedule. Sorry about that, but you know it will pass. I got sick of my chewable vitamins (too sweet) and switched to a capsule. Good luck!

I am forcing eating and drinking, too. Not physically, just mentally making myself drink those drinks and eat that Protein. Funny, this isn't the head game I thought I'd be having! Guess its a good problem to have considering the other possibilities.

So ally, how's your eating progressing? Are you feeling better?

I am feeling much better! I am tolerating food very well. I do not get in enough Protein that's for sure. Even tho that is all I am consuming. I am struggling with Protein Shakes because I am so sick of them and I can only get in like 4 or 5 tiny bites of actual food. Today I averaged maybe 40. I am doing pretty good on Water. I get about 60 oz or more

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
