Washington State Pals for The Seattle Seahawks

Recommended Posts

I hear all the stores in Seattle have run out of tissues in preparation for the forthcoming major can of whoop ass coming their way this Sunday?

Really? If you want to trash talk, then here we go...

Hope your old man can stand the cold. ..

Yup that's as mean as I get...

Hope you enjoy the big game, since you love orange so much, stick to carrot sticks and avoid those dastardly cheetos!

It is blue Jello at my house :-D

We've been season ticket holders since 1976. All weather fan here. We beat the fortywhiners and that was my major want ;) But gosh dang it a super bowl win is coming our way!

GO HAWKS!

Just wore my Seahawks t-shirt to the local bar for trivia night. The ENTIRE bar was in orange- yuck!! I got lots of stares, a few comments, and even an offer for a free broncos shirt if I would change right there. But I stood my ground!!!

The 12th man is alive and well in Denver!!!

You know I was wondering what I would be planning for the big day if I was already sleeved. I am aiming for a March surgery date. I was thinking that if you are going to a party that you could bring a great veggie tray with a great dip made with greek yogurt. Maybe a Jello dish so no one would notice your jello snack.< /p>

I'm making Seattle themed healthy Snacks for my party here in Denver. Everyone else is bringing bronco themed apps but I doubt the will be healthy so that gives me two reasons not to eat them!!

Dungeness crab cakes

Smoked salmon

Fresh cherries

And of course APPLES!

I made lasagna (Pioneer Woman - awesome recipe) to take to a party, it is going into the oven in an hour. I won't be having any but I did have about 1/4 cup of the meat sauce, it was heaven! I'll put a shake in my purse in case there isn't anything I can have.

GO HAWKS!!

I couldn't find any crow so I settled for cheesecake. Cheesecake really does sooth my emotions I find.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
