Sofficial 162 Posted January 22, 2014 My paper work will finally be submitted on the 27th, but there is one issue that I am worried about. My coordinator at the bariatric center called and told me that I have to write a letter to my insurance company explaining why I don't have a five year weight history on record. So I wrote a letter basically saying that I haven't had health insurance in the past few years, because my salary was too much to apply for Medicaid and too little to receive adequate health care, therefore leaving me unable to create a five year trail of my weight history. Now I'm super nervous have anyone ever had problems with your insurance co. because of a lack of weight history.
Miss Mac 6,262 Posted January 22, 2014 Have you not been to a primary care physician at all in five years? My insurance wanted a two year history, so I just had my PCP print out my medical records for the last two years, and I went through it line by line and highlighted every notation of my weight at each visit, and each comment about his recommendation that patient do this or that diet or lose weight or has gained weight.......I submitted that with my packet and it was not a problem. Boy oh boy though, five years is asking a lot.
Sofficial 162 Posted January 23, 2014 Yeah I've been without insurance for almost three years,my employer didn't offer insurance and with no SERIOUS health problems, I looked up and three years just flew by. But I just left my last PCP office(from 3 yrs ago) and they faxed my weight history along with my sleep apnea diagnosis. But I'm still worried
