shells72 23 Posted January 22, 2014 For the past few weeks I have not lost anything but instead am starting to gain. I have gone back to 241 and emotionally I am not dealing well with this at all. I am scared and don't understand how I can be gaining when I only eat 3 to 4 ounces at a time and the dr only has me eating three meals with one snack. I even weigh my food. Has anyone done this? I have lost just over 70 lbs since surgery in Sept since the gain back.
Marykatherine 38 Posted January 22, 2014 So sorry you are freaking out. I have had the exact same experience. I started at 320. Came down to 240. And stopped. And stayed stop. And gained. And freaked. You probably will stay around a weight point. I have. Then I reviewed my program. Congratulations for weighing food and sticking to 3 meals plus one. When I reviewed I had stopped weighing and was snacking often, . I also never got 'into' exercising. I've started that now and the weight gain has stopped and the scale is moving down. Reevaluate. Try not to freak too much. Take a deep breath. Acknowledge you have a unique body. Enjoy the trip! Good luck.
McButterpants 2,846 Posted January 22, 2014 First - congrats on the 70 pounds lost! Are you tracking your intake - even if you're eating a little, it could be the wrong things? Are you still tracking your Protein? Are you exercising? How are you doing on Water - it's vitally important and will help with your loss?
shells72 23 Posted January 23, 2014 Thank you both for taking the time to reply the hospital nutritionist and I have gone over what I eat and thinks that I may need both more Protein and definitely more Water. I feel like I am drinking all the time but I numbered the bottles yesterday and only got through three before I went to bed. The gaining really through me and it isn't something that I was ready to experience ever. What was also pointed out to me was that stress will make you gain even if you are eating and doing everything right. So I am back to a food journal as well as a discussion journal that I can choose to share or keep to myself as a way of coping with what is going on. Thank you both again for taking the time to share with me it means a lot.
Bronco0605 135 Posted January 23, 2014 Are you able to exercise at all ? It has made so much difference for me. Even just walking regularly can expend a lot of calories. Do you have pedometer? That is another thing that helped me alot. It helped me see how much I was actually walking and how many calories I was burning in a day.
