PuraVida37 715 Posted January 22, 2014 Take your body measurements today and also take a "Before" pic! If you have time, write yourself a letter about why you are doing this and read it for days when you're feeling blue. And realize you WILL be in pain and ask yourself "WHY DID I DO THIS TO MYSELF?" but in a week that will be gone and you'll feel exponentially better each day. And remember to WALK!! It may hurt, but it WILL help!!! Don't bother taking a bunch of stuff with you to the hospital. You'll just have to carry it back. If you're female, wear a super easy, comfy bra or none at all. I remember struggling with it afterwards. LOL Good luck!!! Welcome to the other side! lol 2 JOANNE M HOLL and Leepers reacted to this

MountainMan 69 Posted January 22, 2014 I think a heating pad at home is essential...at least it was for me. And give yourself permission now to take it easy for a week. 2 steph2012 and PuraVida37 reacted to this
JustDoIt130 369 Posted January 22, 2014 also something like crystal light, etc. And really, I think things like popsicles, etc can be "regular", as in, not sugar free- you won't be getting a lot of calories, and you do need some! I ate a lot of fruit -type pops, they were good- especially when I just couldn't bear one more cup of broth!!! Do you have a Protein shake you like for when you can be on full liquids? It's good to have that handy. I know doctor's vary on how long on each type of liquid, so you may be well up and about before you get to that stage. I had a sedentary desk job, had my surgery on a Thursday and was back to work on Monday, with DH carrying my laptop in. Just do walk walk walk, also rest when you need it!!! Yay for you! You'll be so happy (around day 8 when you finally feel semi- normal again and aren't wondering what the h-e- double hockey sticks you were thinking!).
