swoodard74 20 Posted January 22, 2014 I was banded on the 16th. The first 3 days were easy, but yesterday and today have been pretty rough. I can't even drink Water without pain and have to burp it up. Is this normal for the first week?
2muchfun 8,927 Posted January 22, 2014 No, call your doctor in the morning and see if you can take some anti inflammatory meds? You do not want to get dehydrated this early or ever really. Try sucking on ice chips so Water slowly goes down the tube. Cold Water may help reduce the swelling from surgery too. Alternate every hour or so with warm/hot tea. Slowly sip with a small spoon. tmf 3 kll724, JOANNE M HOLL and chasingadream reacted to this

kll724 3,055 Posted January 22, 2014 Best wishes, you are probably swollen, but calling your surgeon's office is,always, good advice. Karen..aka.kll724 1 2muchfun reacted to this
swoodard74 20 Posted January 22, 2014 I called the surgeon this morning and they wanted to see me immediately. So I'm in the waiting room. They mentioned I need an unfill. I thought we didn't have any saline in our band the first month??? I will soon find out and hopefully feel better soon. I tried hot tea this morning and even that caused discomfort after time. loveNlife76 23 Posted January 22, 2014 How much did you weigh at time of surgery and what size of band do you have? If you don't mind me asking? I see many of y'all have had saline put in at time of surgery. That's why I'm asking.

loveNlife76 23 Posted January 23, 2014 Thanks for the reply....I hope you feel much better and PLEASE don't get discouraged about the unfill, it's better to start slow and be comfortable. Rather than regretting your decision. My first fill started at 3cc's but was having a hard time keeping Water down. I felt a gurgling sensation in my throat so luckily I was still at my drs office and had 1cc removed. Today I had my 3rd fill and I have already noticed the difference in my hunger. I'm not hungry!!! ☺☺☺ Yay for me!!! By the way I have a total of 4.5 cc's now. Good luck in your journey and let's give it our ALL!!!
