I have been on the Internet reading so many recommended different postop diets And I don't know which one I want to go with. I know the pat answer is whatever your doctor tells you to do, but I had my surgery in Mexico. They emailed one I'm sure they got off the Internet.

See if the below diet sounds reasonable to everyone:

I did Clear liquids for two days after the surgery.

I was going to stay on full liquids for two weeks.

Then I was going to go to purée for a week.

And Then go to soft foods for a week.

Then slowly introduce solid foods into my diet.

Does this sound reasonable and safe to most of you guys?

It sounds fine to me. My doc had me on full liquids for two weeks my first day home. Then two weeks of pureed, four weeks of soft foods, and then normal diet. I have yet to eat anything that didn't go down okay. I just get really full on Proteins and can barely get to my veggie. Tonight I am making a veggie-beef Soup which will have more veg than beef plus some barley. I am looking forward to trying it.

Yup, spot on in terms of giving your stomach time to heal. You sound like you don't have confidence in the docs who did your surgery but the diet they have given you is what you need.

Pat answer or not, you now need to follow it using the principles of Protein first and getting your Water in...and keep moving. Best way to get good results..

Good luck, hope it goes well for you :-)

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
