mumoftwo 34 Posted January 21, 2014 Hi I'm only 6 days post op but I am really struggling getting my fluids in. I have lots of gas and have to force myself to do little burps after every single sip I take. Is this normal??
McButterpants 2,846 Posted January 21, 2014 I had the same thing. Walking helped me - even if it's just pacing around the house. As for Water - I was able to get in more when I switched to Propel Zero or Vitamin Water Zero (both zero calorie drinks). Plain water wouldn't go down. Best of luck to you! JerseyGirl68 1,172 Posted January 21, 2014 Hi I'm only 6 days post op but I am really struggling getting my fluids in. I have lots of gas and have to force myself to do little burps after every single sip I take. Is this normal?? Congrats on your surgery! I did the same as McButterpants. I switched to Vitamin Water Zero and had no issues drinking. Walking is the best course of action for moving the gas. Warm liquids also went down easier for me initially. Herbal teas were a God send. Peppermint was and still is a favorite. Good luck!
mumoftwo 34 Posted January 22, 2014 Thanks ladies. I don't find it difficult to get Water as such down, everything in general. I've got Powerade, tried Tomato Soup, apple juice . Everything seems to be a huge struggle, and I force myself to burp after every sip
Mama Spike 144 Posted January 22, 2014 Me too! Gas-ex helped me for the first 2 weeks as well. I found Sobe life Water.< /p>
