dlm59 16 Posted January 21, 2014 Had surgery last Monday 1/13. I had the Lap-band removed and a lot of scar tissue removed. I now am happy to have the sleeve. I am feeling good over all a little better everyday. However when I walk I get a horrible pain by my large incision which goes around to my back and a lot of time I scream. I don't have any pain when I'm resting just soreness. I didn't call drs office today now I'm wondering if I should. Has anyone else had this kind of pain? ElliottWasHere 41 Posted January 21, 2014 I was sleeved the same day, I had the similar kind of pain. I then bought a waist support belt, it has been all the difference. I barely have any pain now
dlm59 16 Posted January 21, 2014 Really! Great I wondered about that. Did you ever call the dr? Thanks for the reply!
jalb 4 Posted January 22, 2014 Just my two cents. I think you should call the Dr. and explain the pain. Make sure you are active keep your legs and feet moving. The reason I bring this up and I realize my situation is differnt then yours, is I felt great the first two weeks after surgery and then thought I had a respiratory issue, turned out I ended up with clots in my legs and my lungs. Again, not trying to be an alarmist, just think this early always good idea to run certain things by the dr.
dlm59 16 Posted January 23, 2014 Oh how scary to get blood clots. Did you land up back in the hospital for a few days? I went to see the Dr today he wanted to make sure everything was ok with my pain. Everything was fine no hernia. He said the pain is a combination of gas Constipation and the large incision. So he changed my pain meds and told me to use a heating pad and gas X. Thanks so much for your concern!
jalb 4 Posted January 23, 2014 Glad to see everything worked out fine. I did end up in the hospital via the ER. I spent about 5 days and will be following up with the Pulmonary Dr. as well as my Cardiologist. Most likely I will be on blood thinners for awhile. It is a setback, but I like to look at the positive, thanks to them I am able to reply to the post :-)
