I had my first fill today 2cc, I don't know what size band I have but I think it is the smaller one. I have been so hunger for the past 3 weeks. My doctor said I should start to feel restriction now. I am discouraged I don't feel the restriction yet and I am only down about 25lbs and I have over 60 to go. I guess I just need some encouraging words. My best friend got banded 12/11/06 and she is down 50 lbs and only have another 10 or so to go - she looks fantasitc and I am so happy for her. But it's hard to see her progress and not got anxious for my own .

When did you get banded? If you just got your first fill, I'll assume it was about 4-6 weeks ago. It's not a competition.

You're doing great. 25 lbs is a lot of weight.

Just hang in there.

Bruce

OK I see now you were banded 2-26-07. She had a head start...

Everyone loses at a different rate, and often the more you have to lose, the faster it goes at first. Think about it this way---since you are going to have to work a little harder at it---you will learn good eating habits---and they will stick with you---you will always have them to fall back on for maintenance as well.

I have been banded for a year almost, and still have over 35 pounds to lose---but it will happen---not tomorrow or next week----but it WILL happen! Meanwhile---I feel great!!! I am succeeding! And you are too! You are LOSING weight, not gaining---we are heading in the right direction!!!

Hello Troy....

Please throw that scale away. I absolutely REFUSE to bring one into my home. I wait until my Dr's appointment to step on a scale.

Even though you are doing a FABULOUS job at your weight loss, it still fluctuates. Please, keep your sanity and restrict yourself from stepping on that scale. Focus on continuing your exercises and eating healthy. You'll find that your clothes won't fit anymore and have increased energy.

Your FABULOUS, Toy, keep up the good work!!!!!

If I am reading this correctly you are down 25 lbs in less than 5 weeks. That is a ton of weight to lose in that short of time. Keep up the good work and don't compare yourself to your friend.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
