IncredibleGene(s) 1 Posted January 21, 2014 My name is Gene. I am 45. I discovered this page while researching recovery variables for VSG surgery. I am scheduled to go under the knife on 14FEB2014. I am currently the victim of stress eating and have gained 45 pounds in 2 months. I am currently at 268 pounds after losing 135 on my own 3 years ago. My all time low was 206, and my new goal is 170. I should add that I am 5'9" to give perspective....morbidly obese. I have obstructive sleep apnea, hypertension and the beginnings of insulin resistance. I am impressed with the non malabsorption component of VSG, the fact that it is effective but not drastic and can be modified somewhat ie duodenal switch if necessary. I have encountered several people that have had various types of WLS and all of them have told me the same thing, 'best thing I ever did' and 'should have done it earlier. I will have surgery in Tijuana, Mexico. I live approximately 8 miles from the border and my wife is from Tijuana, so I have a great guide. Can't Wait!!! 1 1Day1Life4Now reacted to this
