July12 1 Posted January 20, 2014 Highest weight: 265 Preop: 254 Surgery: 244 Current: 204 Yep, you read that correctly. I have only lost 40 pounds. And that was in the first 3 months. I have gained and lost the same 5 pounds in the last 3 months. I am into clean eating - no packaged food ( other than Designer whey Protein powders) or artificial sweeteners. I am eating healthy, but I know I am eating too often. I can eat about a cup of food at a time, but I am always hungry! Not just head hunger (although I have plenty of that, too). I take 4 Zumba classes a week and zumba at home. I have been doing that for more than a year. I just started a pilates/strength training class and hoping that might help things start moving again, but I am starting to panic. I know the losing window starts closing at one year and I am halfway there. I never expected this to be easy, but I didn't expect it to be so hard and still not lose weight!!! I'm sad and frustrated! Mrs.RRn 2,111 Posted January 20, 2014 How many times a day are you eating? Are you getting your Water in?
July12 1 Posted January 20, 2014 How many times a day are you eating?<br> Are you getting your Water in? I usually eat 6 times a day - generally 200-300 calories each. I always have a bottle of Water. I have for years. Before surgery, I easily drank a gallon or more a day. Now, I probably drink about half of that or less. July12 1 Posted January 20, 2014 My nut told me not to worry about calories as long as I get in 80 g of Protein. My dr told me to persevere.
Mrs.RRn 2,111 Posted January 20, 2014 I'm wondering about those calories too. I rarely get over 1000 (and that's if I'm eating out). Maybe try eating less at a sitting? I was always told no more than 1/2 cup at a sitting.
Mrs.RRn 2,111 Posted January 20, 2014 My doc said not to count calories either. But obviously, something isn't working well.
July12 1 Posted January 20, 2014 I have to make a better effort there. When I eat less, I get hungrier sooner, so I have been eating more often. I feel like I am back to searching for the right diet. But now I have stinky gas and even worse stinking bowel movements, weird noises coming from my stomach when I eat, inability to guzzle Water or even drink with meals and I can't take ibuprophen for my aching muscles... Thanks for letting me vent there. I am now going back to work on a better attitude. ????
MNMema 82 Posted January 20, 2014 Sorry but I agree! That is a gynormous amount of calories!!! My facility states, 2 oz. by 3 mos. out, 4 oz. by 6 mos. out, etc. up to 6 - 8 oz. by a year. I myself would be drinking more Water and eating less. If you are getting hungry, walk or read or drink water or a zero calorie drink. Anything but eat more. Good luck and I hope everything works out for you! 3 GENNYOSKINNY, Me-lite and Threetimesacharm reacted to this

Threetimesacharm 1,400 Posted January 20, 2014 One comment, you do know that you are NOT supposed to drink with meals and some of us don't guzzle Water either. I take Tylenol for aches and pains; it is just par for the course. July12 1 Posted January 21, 2014 Inability to drink with meals means that I am NOT able to eat with meals. It is against the rules. I know that. I was VERY educated on this whole process. This is not something I jumped into without thought!!! I was not supposed to feel hungry anymore. The part of my stomach that makes ghrelin (that makes me hungry) was supposed to be remived! I guess I was looking for someone out there that has been where I am right now, not perfect losers that *roll eyes* and use words like gynormous when they are talking about me and my issues. I was looking for some kind of helpful support, but this is obviously not the place for that when you're struggling. I now feel a hundred times worse than before I posted. Thanks, Bariatic Pals! Mrs.RRn 2,111 Posted January 21, 2014 Did you want advice from people who haven't loss weight?? Lol Last bit of advice (although you may not want to hear it).. Start again from the beginning. Back to liquid diet, full liquids, soft, then solids. Maybe you can train yourself to eat a little less at a sitting.
