I made a list today of things I want to do once the weight comes off. The first two things are Learn to ski and roller skate. What's on your list?

I'm with you on the roller skating! I was just thinking about it the other day. I haven't gone in years because of my weight. Now I'm looking forward to several different activities that I used to love when I was lighter like ice skating, roller skating, bowling (I hated people staring while I was getting ready to throw the bowling ball), running, and Water sports-I love jet skiing and parasailing. The top thing on the list for me is definitely roller coasters! Can't wait to fit normally into the seats and enjoy the rides like I used to.

This is a topic I need to explore in more depth, maybe it will help me get through this frustration of not losing as fast as I want so I can get my surgery date.

Skinny goals:

1. Go back to Ireland and be able to walk without pain or looking for a place to sit every 20-30 minutes.

2. Try cross country skiing .

3. Go swimming again.

4. Discover I might actually like physical activity.

I'm going on a trip to Croatia in the Spring with my very active daughter, son-in-law, and husband. I don't want to be the one saying "No, it's ok - you all go on without me. I'm just fine sitting here."

Oh My, there are so many thanks that I would like to do...

ski-ing, yes,

running - although I'd be content with just walking longer distance to start with

Have lots more photos taken with my family for sure! I so regret not having photos from when they were little, but better late than never! At least I will be living longer now (hopefully), so so many more opportunities

Response to Selena Hay.....maiden name is McCullough, Irish derivative of McCulloch, during the plantation period in the 1600's. My McCullochs resided in Cardoness Castle and Barholm Castle in the Bay of Fleet. The McCullochs were allied with border clans MacDonald, Ross, and Monroe. Once forcibly removed to Ireland, they hung around Randalstown, County Antrim, Ulster.

I tell people I come from horse thieves (Cutlar McCulloch at Cardoness) and Presbyterians (John McCulloch of Barholm is buried in Greyfriars Kirkyard in Edinburgh for Harboring John Knox and being part of the Pentland Uprising).

A recent DNA test of my brother takes our McCullochs back to the ancient Stone Builders of Great Britain, and credits us with a Nordic and Viking contribution. That is no doubt where the recessive gene for my red hair comes from. Everyone else in the family has black hair. When I was a teenager, I thought I was a love child, but my birth certificate says

otherwise! I can't wait to be able to travel: I already have a passport.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
