acampbell1318 58 Posted January 20, 2014 Hi I am 2 weeks post op today and I am still on only Protein shakes. The Protein Shakes make me nauseous and now even the thought of a Protein shake starts making me nauseous. I have another 8 days of this, I don't know what to do. Also getting so discouraged the first week I lost 16lbs and now I have not lost anything since that first week. I hope I am doing everything right.
GotItDoneInHarlem 302 Posted January 20, 2014 Call your NUT and express how you are feeling. Are you on full liquids or Protein shakes ONLY? If full liquids you'll most likely be able to do fat free yogurt and there are other Protein options, like Isopure drinks, that are protein but different enough to get you through it. Again, call your NUT.
McButterpants 2,846 Posted January 20, 2014 I agree, call the NUT. You may be experiencing some lactose intolerance, which is fairly common after surgery, even if you didn't have it before. Hang in there - it will get better, but you need to figure out what's going on first. 1 RJ'S/beginning reacted to this
RJ'S/beginning 5,358 Posted January 20, 2014 Sometimes they will change the Protein drink for you....I personally found them all disgusting and just fumbled through....every mouth full I gagged!! Now I drink Syntrax nectar..Like it much better....

McButterpants 2,846 Posted January 20, 2014 I agree with RJ (she's wise!) - you might want to try the nectar products.
acampbell1318 58 Posted January 20, 2014 this is the second Protein I have tried and I am using unsweeted almond milk which is lactose free. I am on 64 oz of Water and 4 Protein Shakes a day that are 8oz each.
nicgs 6 Posted January 20, 2014 I have had good luck with the un-flavored Unjury protien powder. I mix it in Soup, coffee...etc. Also the vanilla whey Protein Powder in sugar free vanilla pudding....you can't taste it at all!! 1 Mammecan reacted to this
losin_it 15 Posted January 22, 2014 I'm so tired of Protein Shakes, and my surgeon just added a third to my daily intake, ugh. I immediately ordered the Unjury starter pack. I've heard it's really good, so I'm hoping for the best! 1 Mammecan reacted to this
deedadumble 1,033 Posted January 22, 2014 I like the Unjury chicken Soup. It was the only thing that worked for me at times. I also really like Premier Protein from costco or Sams.
acampbell1318 58 Posted January 22, 2014 I am still getting nauseous with the Protein shakes but I had a sample of the unjury chicken Soup and it is really good so I ordered it and I am going to try the Premier Protein cause a lot of people have recommended that. TheWigster 70 Posted April 1, 2014 The Protein Shakes made me nauseous so I tried the Carnation Instant Breakfast mixed with Mootopia (a high Protein low sugar milk sold at Texas HEB stores). It tastes great and worked well for me.
