How much are you eating? How many calories are you getting in? I've found that when I've been stuck for a few days if I increase my calories for a few days it gets me back to losing. I've heard other anecdotal reports on the forums that increasing just a bit kicks you out of starvation mode and lets your body get back to burning fat.

I was in a 2 week stall and broke it today! Lost a pound! I know that's not a lot but when you have played with the same pound for 2 weeks a whole pound feels like 10! Lol my surgery was December 18 and I am down 24 lbs. not where I thought I would be but it is what it is.

Don't panic...It sucks, but it's normal.

Butterthebean has a great article tagged in his auto signature about stalls - it's worth the read...

http://www.dsfacts.com/weight-loss-stall-or-plateau.html#.Ut1GtBYQFdg

With that said, just keep following your plan. Keep exercising and getting your Protein in - you won't want to lose lean muscle mass. You want to keep burning fat. In order to do that, you need to exercise and eat/drink Protein.< /p>

I stalled for 10 days between Weeks 3 and 4 and even though I knew a stall would come, I wasn't mentally prepared for it. My husband hid the scale from me and he brings it out once per week. That's it - it saved my sanity.

Hang in there - your stall will end soon. Don't let yourself get sidetracked.

You have lost 45 lbs...27 of which it looks like you lost since surgery which was one month ago. Focus on that! Unless you were accustomed to losing 27 lbs a month pre-surgery, I would say you are a success. Keep up your hard work....it will pay off. Not only on the scale but the habits you are forming.

I am almost 5 weeks out. I was having an issue with my hip pre-surgery and it is still very painful so I haven't really adopted a regular exercise routine and I NEED to. Good for you for doing it. There are things I can do but I'm letting the hip win.

I have lost about 33 lbs and I am thrilled. As a past professional dieter, I was so fed up with myself and everything pre-surgery, I hadn't lost more than 12-15 lbs in the last few years with any short-lived attempt.

I say congrats!

Thanks for the support ...what do you suggest I add to increase calories ...? So far I've really only been fitting in the protien..eggs..Turkey sausage..reduced fat cabbot cheese..Greek light and fit yogurt...shredded chicken breast..soy burgers.

Also..here is something I've done since my journey began.

I organized my closet by size. When I hit a stall, I tried on the first pair of pants in the next size down. That way I know how far I've come in a non scale way.

I hit a stall that's a week old. I'm 3 months post op..and this is the longest I've been stalled..yet..I'm oddly calm about it. I'm eating right, following my plan, working out..so I know something is happening somewhere.

Tried on the next size down and they fit and buttoned/zipped up while I was standing up.

So although the scale is the main tool we all use...fitting into smaller stuff is another tool. I also measure myself in 3 spots so I can track inches lost. I'm up to over 20 inches lost.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
