lol..Olives are a part of my staple foods. Green to be exact. Their my way of getting salt. I use the juice to sprinkle on my salads, I pour a small amount into a very hot pan and add garlic, I use olives on everything that need salt, I even puree then if I have to.. and its juice when ever liquid is allowed.

I think a lot of us have craved the little green deliciousness of them!! I still eat them with my lunches and have been known to pop one in during the day just for a little treat! :)

Hi all, I'm a newbie, who was sleeved 12/23/2013. Currently, I'm on the full liquid diet stage and won't move to soft/regular foods until 1/30/14. But I am craving olives and pickles. Would it hurt to drink a little juice from both or suck on them during this stage?

As long as your not sipping on a lot of it you should be fine. I know others who did this just to get a taste of some real food. For some reason many of us crave Pickle Juice and olives.....go figure! :)

I remember last year early post op also we were all discussing pickle cravings. I think maybe it's the sodium. Maybe our body is trying to get a bit more of what it needs. Who knows but yummy!!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
