I sweat in so many places I have been boxing since December and can really see a difference in my arms and back. I hope your schedule lets you enjoy the classes often! Mikee57 699 Posted June 16, 2014 (edited) took sometime off of work while my hub and sons were motorcycling the mountains in Gatlinburg...low and behold-guess what I got some sort of stomach bug that kept me pent up inside-couldn't even get to the pool. so was really upset...thought I had a few days that I could get a few hours in each day, but alas that wasn't to happen. But I got up at 4:30 am this morning-bright and early and got my mile and exercise in...so I am a happy person right now. I always feel so much better when I go to the pool before work. Debbie3sons 1,936 Posted June 16, 2014 Wow while I was visiting my so in Utah I was staying at a Hotel that had a swimming pool so after our visits I would go to the pool and I did 5 laps across and 15 in. of jogging , then 20 jumping jacks in the Water, so refreshing, and 2 days n a row we went hiking and to top off the end of our visit on our last day together we hiked up to go zip lining and hiked backed down to the car and then I had to take him back then I ran through the airport in Salt Lake City Utah to catch my flight that they held for me because I was almost late for the flight , but I made it and got home to Calif. , now it's back to work , and I will be dancing to the oldies by Richard Simmons cd, and walking to get my exercise . 2 catfish87 and Mikee57 reacted to this
catfish87 3,471 Posted June 16, 2014 (edited) This was too good! My son tours the nation for the past three years during the summer with the Denver Blue Knights Drum and Bugle corps. He's a real band geek and music education major in college..( proud dad moment here ) He is somwhat fit usually, but this touring gig REALLY trims him down every year..... after 3 months of it. As I got in my truck this afternoon after finishing up biking, I get a text.... " Today I did a 5K in 37 minutes! " from him. Now I got a quick Happy Fathers day text yesterday morning at 5am....but I think todays was even better! Midnights this week at work, so this "morning ( 1pm ) I got in a nice 26 miles on the bike. Garmin says it feels like 97*F....I believe it!!! Happy Monday all. catfish87 3,471 Posted June 18, 2014 @Mikee57 as others have said....IT WILL pay off. Don't "look" for it. I have logged bike rides for a couple of years now and runs since July 2013. To go back and compare previous months/years, it really shows. One way you may notice is heart rate and calories burned. If you have some sort of tracking device with a heart rate monitor, you'll notice after some period of time, that doing the same routine/distance will burn less and less calories....and you may notice your HR is declining at the same effort level. These are all indications of your increased physical conditioning. All an added benefit on top of any weight lost. I haven't really lost any scale weight in SEVERAL months now, but my clothes sizes continue to decline (although slowly now). My resting HR is now around 55-60....my HDL (good) cholesterol number, Triglycerdies, TC/HDL ratio, BP, Glucose....all "fantastic". And those are highly influenced by cardio training. So don't JUST look to the scale for motivation.....there are many benefits you're getting from exercising. Rode the bike in to work this evening and will ride home in the morning after working 12 hours tonight. 21 miles each way. Now that it's almost daylight at 5am here in the midwest, I'll ride in often when I'm on nights. 3 naenaern777, Debbie3sons and Mikee57 reacted to this
Mikee57 699 Posted June 18, 2014 catfish87 and readysetgo611 thank you both for helping me feel better about myself...yesterday I went to get my 4th fill and I had been very upset with my progress, but feel better after your messages and the Educator (finally got to talk to one at the clinic). I was under the impression I had 4 cc's in my band without any restrictive feelings...only to learn I was only at 3.5 cc's...am now at 4 cc's. Still don't feel much change...but the Educator said for some 4 cc's is not enough for some to be in the green zone-so I might still be a ways off. So I will continue to do as I am doing because on average in the past 5 months I am losing 8 lbs a month...right now I am feeling better about myself!!! Thanks again for your added incentive-you both are my heros!!! 3 naenaern777, Debbie3sons and catfish87 reacted to this

BlueMoon~T 276 Posted June 18, 2014 Hey everyone! So, I've had a set back. My kidneys are NOT cooperating and to top it off I have something new (bad new) going on with my back. MRI is scheduled for the 24th. I'm not a happy panda. :*( I'm doing good to walk most days lately. Anyway, on a positive note, my daughter had her baby on the 16th at 2:35 am. 8lbs. 2oz. 19 inches long. Sweetest thing I've ever laid my eyes on. I even got to cut the cord! Keep me in your thoughts. Dialysis makes me deathly ill and I'm much too young to have the back I've got. I wanna RUN!! But reading everyone's posts on this thread keeps me motivated to get there. You all are Killing It!! Happy Hump Day!! 3 jamilyne 102668, catfish87 and naenaern777 reacted to this
