mikes

when i was banded, i could not walk from my car to a stores door to shop

i could hardly wipe my ass.....in fact, i was becoming near immobile.....so i just started walking (more like waddle) as much as i could.....and that is all i could do......walk......and those steps, day after day, added up......i cannot do nearly as much as some who post their exercises.....not even in my prime.....but i am doing what i can do and what works for me...

as long as you do it, who cares

what it is

or how long you do it

we all had to start the same way.......

at the beginning

there is never an end...its on going......proud of you GF

@@Mikee57 they are all right you will be surprised where you are 6 months from now. Baby steps for sure but you will get there. I actually told my surgeon that exercise would never be an option for me due to all my medical conditions. Well yesterday I finished week 6 day 1 of C25K and I'm running a 5K on June 7th. I couldn't walk for 3 minutes without pain and exhaustion. 9 months later and a ton of baby steps here I am. You got this girl!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Not yet. I have been having private training sessions and we've been focusing on other exercises. However, my birthday is next week and I have a freebie session planned (a gift from my trainer). I'm going to ask that it be a TRX session. I know...tough gift to myself...but it's worth it :)

Boxing class today. I felt adventurous and attempted a few things during the warm up and the core sections that previously I was afraid to do (bad knees and all). And I made it through the whole class with no breaks. Good day!

Great job have u been back to trx ?

So I usually do 60 mins workouts 6 times of a week, consist of some weights, treadmill, jog, and kickboxing class. Stopped losing weight for a good 3 months even after all my hard work, but I was toning up and losing inches. Anyways about a month ago one of my co-workers mma fighter changed my whole workout routine and I lost 4lbs in 3 weeks. I'm so happy for this. :) He recommends that you change the routine atleast every month and never do the same workout, you have to alternate. ex. One day weights upper body, next day crunches pushups and treadmill, then back to weights lower body etc.

Thank you catfish87 and Mikee57. I was terrified of the skating but I've always taught my two sons not to let fear prevent them from trying new things, so when I was placed in the hot seat, I had to eat my words and lead by example. My sons learned how to skate about 6 years ago at summer camp and always went with the other campers or friends, so I've been able to avoid the whole skating thing with them, until this past weekend when we were visiting my dad and he wanted to take the boys to this entertainment complex near where he lives and, well, the rest is history! It was scary and fun at the same time! Lol

Today is my only day off work this week, took the truck to the shop for a service call, they said they'd need about 3 hours.....so, I got in a 6 mile walk while they were working on it. Got home and got in a leisurely 35 mile ride in some windy conditions. It wasn't fast, but it was fun....And burned right at 1500 calories between the two. Happy Hump Day everyone!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
