who all goes? where is it?

is it for banders only??

I love my support group! We meet every 2nd and 4th Thursday of each month. I get to see my fellow banders Cathfish87! Who is amazing! Our support has all types to WLS patients it amazing how different we are but we can still support each other during our journeys. I would be so lost with out them

There are days I wish I did not have to go to work...and the same voice is telling me to call in sick....but then, if I don't work, who's going to pay the mortgage? And if I didn't pay the Mortgage, I would not have a nice home...so there are rewards to everything we do, but it requires some effort....

Or, we can sit on the sofa in front of the TV and hope it all happens magically....maybe someone can do it for us...

B-52, I like this way of thinking.

New way to think of excercise.

A tip I was told was to make exercise an appointment. Schedule it just like going to the dentist or doctor. It is just as important.

Got up at 5 a.m. walked on treadmill slow at first, holding on tight with eyes still shut, eventually woke up and walked a bit faster for 30 min.

This winter is kicking my butt, so tired all the time and so cold, -27 degrees this morning. Uff Da

sleep won the battle this morning for me. I am taking the puppies for a walk tonight. Tomorrow I will return to my regularly scheduled morning gym time. Saturday, I'm walking at Disney all morning! Sunday, I'm not sure what I'll do for my exercise. Monday, very little exercise; on Monday, I am being banded so I can be an official club member.

does laying down in a mri machine count? or barium swallow and upper gi.? but as soon as i got home i walked my dogs the 21/2 acres and than crashed in my recliner for awhile. i hate the drive 2 hours away. and than i made 48 cupcakes for my grandaughters first birthday. they had to be special because it will be her first sweet food and she is severely allergic to eggs. so running around the kitchen, does that count as exercise?

Good morning, friends. I 1st want to say, I hate the tredmill! I like outdoors walking. My walking buddies are either sick today, or working. Plus, the weatehr here in Flroida has been windy and chilly in teh morning for walking. So this morning, I am proud to say that I stayed on the tredmill for 1 hour, wlaking at a 2.5 or 3.0 pace. That is a true accomplishment for me at home, by myself! Yeah me!!! Havea great day, Karen..aka..kll724

Yesterday I walked for almost 5 hours straight (I bought my father a tour of the Magic Kingdom for Christmas and yesterday was the day). Being on a liquid diet for the last few days and walking for that amount of time wiped me out. I am so ready to be banded tomorrow.

My question is... After I'm banded, how long will it take me to get back to, and surpass, the level of cardio workout I am currently able to do? At this point in time, I go to the gym 4 to 6 times a week and do some form of a cardio workout. On my distance days, once or twice a week, I am up to 4.9 miles in 33 minutes on the elliptical.

Congratulations on your upcoming surgery! It's so great that you are doing the walking and exercise already. Best wishes tomorrow -- keep us posted on how you are doing!

Way to go, Karen! You are inspiring me to get down to the basement and get moving. So cold here in NH we all just want to stay under the covers.

Go ahead Bandista, you can do it. Als41, that is one of my favorite things about living in central Florida, getting my exercise walking around Epcot and otehr DIsney parks in the winter when they are not crowded. Karen..aka.kll724

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

      2. BlondePatriotInCDA

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
