Bananas & Cream Protein Shakes...now at Big Lots

Recommended Posts

Just wanted to let my fellow sleevers know that Big Lots now have the Muscle Milk Protein Shakes. A 4-pk for $3.00! They have strawberry, banana cream, chocolate and vanilla cream. If you haven't tried Muscle Milk products, try it now. They usually run $3.97 a piece in Walmart and other places, so this is great deal. post-200800-0-93808800-1390090888_thumb.jpg

Thanks for sharing! Great tip as many of the ready to drink shakes are expensive. Do you like Muscle Milk? I tried the chocolate and it was okay. I am still struggling to find one I really like.

Mooncat, the strawberries and creme is my favorite. I freeze mine and then refrigerate to thaw out. Sometimes I blend it. It tastes just like a strawberry shake. I've tried several Protein brands, and muscle milk is my favorite. EAS is my second favorite. Walmart has the EAS brand $4.98 for a 4-pk.

My favorite is Smart Protein from Complete Nutrition. Their vanilla bean is wonderful and though I'm not a chocolate lover I've heard great reviews about it as well.

I'm really glad you told us about this My daughter is nursing my baby grand daughter who is one month old. DD had gastric bypass a year before I had my band surgery and she is really picky about Protein Drinks. She needs the Protein while she is nursing, and she really likes Muscle Milk.

Premier Protein. You can find it in the internet and the web site will tell you where you can find it. 30 grams of Protein, low carb, low sugars and about 160 cal. I am very picky. I hate the Protein Shots and the the stuff they put me on pre op was horrible. The Premier Protein Shakes have been he best, but I've not tried the Muscle Milk.

I'm finding that my shakes are giving me diarrhea. Are any of them lactose free?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
