hi Coco - sounds like a great holiday and the kids must have had a blast! it is fab that your de-fill has brought you to the point of eating solids again - the 10lb weightloss is a great thing but the psychological impact of being able to eat a bit of solid food must be wonderful after a lot of liquid! Fair play to you for the upbeat attitude and patience to keep working at it. I probably would have done a lot of moaning and whinging in your place - kudos!

Hi Kermit,

There was moaning and whinging, believe me, but for the most part I just got on with it. I'm feeling a whole lot better now and am hoping that I don't gain any of the 10lbs lost over the next couple of weeks because I'm able to eat again. I'm trying to make healthy choices but the joy of being able to eat normally again makes some choices a little less healthy than others. :) Ah well, the battle of the bulge goes on. ;)

Hi Nikki

Well done on the 5st loss.:clap2::clap2::clap2: You are of course right about the scale watching and I've whittled myself down to just once a week and hope to be able to go to just once a month. But I used to weigh myself everyday sometimes twice a day. Mad I know but I'm getting there.

Hi Skinny,

Don't be too hard on yourself, it will be easier to stay away from the food good and bad when you've had your fill. By all means eat as healthly as you can but you've had the op, the fills will kick in and you'll be on your way. Maybe you should think about some extra exercise rather than weight watchers. Just a thought, because once your fills kick in you won't really need WW but you will always need exercise.:)

Hi Dini,

How was your holiday? How long were you in Italy for? Wasn't the weather beautiful.:D You had problems eating pizza. Its sad when we can't eat things we really like, but once you're home you think, that wasn't so bad and I'v lost weight instead of putting on.:D I see from your ticker tape that you've lost quite a bit now, almost halfway there, thats fantastic. I'm looking forward to our next meeting, hope it'll be a big one.:)

So how are you getting on? How much have you lost? I have only lost a few pounds and even at that ive put on weight on my holidays, so i think im back to where i started. Im freaked out but hopefully my fill will give me restriction, it bloody better actually.:angry

hi Alesha

Good luck with the fill today. How do you feel after it? Was Jerome ok? I have mine on Friday - I hope it makes a difference because I need to start losing - plus it is a four hour round trip for me just to get a fill.

Sorry guys - I have a question related to the self pay op here in Ireland. I am filling out revenue forms for medical expenses and the thought struck me that maybe this medicalprocedure may be something to claim on for 2007? Do any of you know whether it falls under the Med1 form for tax back?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
