Stressed out and can't do my norm.

Today my daughter's father really upset me. I'm so thankful that I have truly seen who he really is, but I'm hungry and want to pig out and have a drink. I'm 5 weeks post op and I'm sitting in Red Lobster wondering can I have anything in here. Am I just wasting my time?

Stay in touch with me. I'm a year post-op and I still have my moments. It's not an ex-husband but my live in partner of 14 yrs is driving me crazy lately. He gets cranky over anything lately. He refuses to visit a doctor and it's insane. Anyway, I go to Red Lobster every Tuesday for a business lunch.i usually order a salad with dressing on the side or a cup of Soup. I limit myself to one cheddar bay biscuit because they are 150 cal each. I used to eat 4 of them before my surgery. I do have an occasional drink but I limit it to one and nurse it. So hang in there. If you want PM me.

Diane

I go to red lobster from time to time...there is nothing on the menu I care for....BUT they always have the fresh catch of the day...and can always order fresh fish such as cod, mahi, etc, cooked to order..baked, grilled....

Once I eat the fish I dot have room for the sides....and usually I can't finish the entire fish...

I'll also order the live lobster now and then also...that they also have to cook fresh, to order.

Not just horrible but chock full of sodium as well. Almost everything in that place is very high in sodium. Stick to fresh grilled fish...with sauce on the side.

And try not to let anyone derail your journey to a healthier weight. I know...easier said than done but I'm behind you and so are lots of other folks on this site.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
