Weight day of op 118 kg (perth story)

Day one was fine. I was in surgery first up 8am, Barack to my room at 10.30am.

I had minimal pain and discomfort until 6.30pm when the nausea started. I was being sick every 45-60 mins. Not much sleep night one.

Day two didn't change. I had to have my swallow test postponed for a few hours while they tried to reduce my vomiting. I must have had three injections and countless things put in my IV. Did the swallow, pretty nasty actually.

Vomiting easing by night, but didn't completely stop until 4am.

Day three and still in hospital. Vomiting stopped early this morning and I can finally start sipping my Water. It's slow going. Walked the corridors a few times, showered and relaxing with gossip girl. Preying for a good night sleep. And that my surgeon lets me go home tomorrow.

Same thing happened to me. I am so sorry you are going through that. It will get better......It did for me, by week 2 I started to feel a lot better about my decision. Congrats!

Day four - surgeon came in this morning. Yippee, I'm aloud to go home today. Bit of an unsettled night, had some discomfort in my right side, not sure why. Hurts when I pee and if I moved suddenly. Had first BM today. And was taken off IV in the middle of the night. Apple juice this morning was like the best present ever. No scales yet, but hopefully didn't gain to much from all the IV fluids.

Day 5

Struggled to get all my fluids in. Had two drinking yoghurts which were a nice surprise. A few sustagens.

Will try harder tomorrow

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
