Inside every forum there is the "start a new topic" button located to the right. Of course once you press "post" it should show up. Sometimes I forget to press that! Like earlier... and everything I wrote goes bye bye. If that is not the case for you perhaps you can ask for assitance in the assistance forums. It might be some kind of issue the admins might have to help you with.

thanks, I'll look at that later...

and how do you post a question on a forum? I tried the other day, but nothing showed up :(

It's a very common feeling! The fear of the unknown can be scary. All I can tell you is to just be 100% positive you are ready. If you are then shake off those jitters and take the plunge. I felt the jitters too all the way up into the operating room and they put my lights out.

My question is how do you advise the newbies scared to go through with the sleeve surgery? In most cases they have been planning for ages and then get freaked as the time approaches.

At my age, I never had any last minute jitters and was looking forward to having a healthy body to see me though the rest of my time on this planet.

You won't see it when you are reading a thread. You have to be in the forum where all the threads are listed and that is where you will see the "start a new topic" button.

Oh yes I'm always happy, even when I'm miserable. And strawberry (the fruit). Mmm!!

So I saw in your profile you are the same height and similar starting weight as me. I know everyone's different but how is the excess skin situation for you? Did you lose all that weight with the sleeve or is that your highest weight? How long did it take you?

My excess skin is an issue for me. More for my psyche than anything else. My husband tells me I look great, but as I look in the mirror and flop around my batwings and pick up my pannus I can't help but feel bad about it. It's gotten a lot worse since I can't workout like I used to. Or rather should I say I stopped working out at all for awhile because I was feeling depressed about the whole thing. I've been doing what I can now for about a month and I've been feeling a lot better. I do a lot of light toning that does not greatly impact my knees. I can see the muscle reformation. I'm so glad muscles have a memory!! Especially since I don't. LOL

From surgery until I hit "goal" it was about 10 months iirc. I was already about 50 Lost when I had my sleeve. I kept losing a little bit after and maintained my weight until about a year ago when my knees said no mas!!! I have to battle back, harder and mentally stronger than ever before but I'm definitely up for the challenge. I CAN DO THIS!!

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Am feeling this right now. My surgery date is 4/1. Sign the consent tomorrow. I feel like I overloaded myself with too much info, too many opinions. Got to the point where I was wondering if I should do this. Then I thought of my reasons for taking this step and that settled my nerves. Still get moments of doubt but am striving forward. Am just going to follow my book from the surgeon. Joined this because I was told by my dietician that I should do this for support
