nursebeccarn 26 Posted January 17, 2014 I'm almost a month out and of course the first two weeks I lost very quickly, now that's slowed down to about 1-3 lbs a week. I certainly don't expect to, or want to lose faster than that, but I'm concerned about the fact that I may be eating too little. I'm not really counting the exact calories of every single bite, but I am making healthy choices and eating only very small portions which i usually don't finish. For example, here's what I ate yesterday. Protein shake with 2tbsp of almond butter Refried Beans w/ finely shredded chicken A few shrimp with guacamole There you have it. Breakfast, lunch and dinner. Should I be eating every two hours? Should I be exercising more?
bearman99 228 Posted January 17, 2014 If you are getting your 64oz liquids and 70g of Protein daily - you are golden. Protein shake or Isopure RTD 20oz are nice in that they fulfill the Protein and the liquid requirement. Exercise: Move for 30 minutes - any movement is better than none. Your results are saying you are doing ok.
Bronco0605 135 Posted January 17, 2014 Are you using myfitnesspal? A site like that would help you see if you are getting enough Protein. Did your doctor set a protein goal for you? How much Water are you drinking? What kind of exercise do you do? How often?
nursebeccarn 26 Posted January 17, 2014 I just had my follow up with my doc and he said 60-70 grams of Protein and 64oz of Fluid. I think I'm definitely hitting my Protein mark, but could improve in the Water department. I'm walking every day for at least 30 minutes. Now that's he's released me to do more, I'm going to start swimming and weight training so I don't look like I'm melting. When my exercise increases should I increase my calorie intake? I just want to make sure I stay out of starvation mode and my metabolism stays where it should.
luckyme2g 35 Posted January 17, 2014 I've been wondering the same thing. My doctor doesn't focus on calories, mainly just Protein and liquids. I will have to ask when I go for a follow up....
Bronco0605 135 Posted January 17, 2014 Do you have any idea how many calories you are taking in?
funmama707 2 Posted January 18, 2014 That sounds about right where I was at one month. Protein #1! I use myfitnesspal all day everyday! It's the best tool for tracking!
