I don't have much advice except for lots of fluids-- the orange crystal light is high in Vitamin C without adding calories.

Try to relax, and take good care and get rest. I was terrified I would get my yearly 3-week bronchitis and I have not!!! It might just be a little sniffle so be positive and stay away from crowds. You are almost there! Best wishes.

Same thing happened to me. Drink Water. Take emergen-c. Search my earlier posts. I had a little cough going into surgery and it was brutal to have in recovery.

Zicam is also a good one if you can get it. Similar to emergen-c but is available in a spray. Me and my family find we respond to it well. Good luck Hun!

I had the same thing. Lots of Water and sudefed. Just no advil or asprin. My doctor told me as long as I have no fever or yellow/green mucus, surgery will go as planned.

Emergen-c. It'll nip it in the bud.

Emergent C is good stuff and always helps me BUT be cautious. Vit C can increase bleeding. Probably ok if you took one or 2 doses close to surgery but might want to check with MD office. Just like they want you to stop all NSAIDS 5 days before surgery. Although a few doses now might be fine. Good luck!

Hey there,

I had the same thing happen and actually had a high white blood cell count when I had my surgery. My suggestion is to SLEEP! and get a B-12 shot if possible. Stay away from all the sickies too! Good luck!

:)

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
