Have or does anybody else had 3 Snacks for their pre-op liquid diet. I thought it was a lot to have 3 snacks and 3 meals and a total of 4 Protein Shakes a day ?

what 3 "meals" are you speaking of? Protein shakes? You don't have meals, the shakes are your meal; unless your dr. is doing it differently. The Snacks are things like no sugar Jello, low carb (carbmaster) yogurt...things of that nature... it helps you get thru the day... is that what you are referring to?

My pre-op diet was 3-4 shakes per day and one lean cuisine type meal. The number of shakes I consumed determined how many calories the lean cuisine meal could be.

Each doctor is different... but mine had no "real" food... all liquids for two weeks... the best thing to do is ask your doctor what they mean by "snacks" so you do it right... good luck to you, congrats on setting the date!

and Protein shake and greek yogurt for BK and pretty much the same for lunch and dinner and yes SF Jello, pudding etc.. but my issue is I don't eat 3 meals a day I am a meal skipper and I am just barely getting liquids (water) in 4 to 5 bottles seems like too much and I am full time mother and student. I can barely remember to do my homework let alone be eating all day. IDK I have a week to practice til my pre-op liquid diet.

1200 calories and 100gr Protein and 125gr of carbs is what they want me to have, I just think it was a little much because I am not use to consuming so much in a day.

Thank you snack such as SF Jello, pudding etc. IDK maybe I am putting to much thought in it. I have to train my body in eating through out the day not just 1 meal a day and drinking my carbs

...it may seem like a lot...but wait until you get there! LOL...but we are here for support.

that's part of your problem... you are NOT eating 3x's a day!!! As you will learn, it is imperative that you have 3 full meals a day, and drink your water; especially after surgery...it is VITAL...so start practicing now... I have it easier, I have a desk job, so I bring my ice Water from home (clean Water system there) in a thermal jug to get me thru the day... you can do this...just BELIEVE!

Protein and low carbs are the keys here, so read your labels, you will learn to do that with everything going forward anyway. The yogurt we were told to get is carbmaster available at Kroger (if you have them near you)... low carbs, higher Protein.< /span>

Yeah this is why I am preparing now for this, it is going ok I just have not put in the 3 Snacks, so tomorrow I will try and get in 4 shakes and 3 Snacks and 4 bottles of water. I will not let my bad habits stop me from getting my surgery.

I was on a similar amount of Protein, but was asked to keep my calories at just under 900 per day.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
