Ok so my NUT is on vacation and the one that is available is extremely strict she believes that we should not drink anything but herbal tea and Water not even crystal light nothing. I've got to the point where I'm getting nauseas with plain water specially in the morning. I don't want to get dehydrated. So my question has anyone had regular Gatorade? And been ok? On my doctors list which is different then the stricter nuts list says I could have G2 but I can't find it anywhere only the regular one. I just need something other then plain water.

Try Vitamin Water zero, the flavors are good and the carbs are very low. Regular Gatorade has so much sugar, really no good for us. If nothing else is available you could dilute the Gatorade 1/2 with Water.

Do a search for G2 powder on Amazon, they have it.

My nutritionist has me on Powerade Zero for Pre-Op, and strongly suggested it for post-op as well...zero calories, decent taste, and gives you the benefits of a sports drink. I was told to stay away from the Gatorade as well as the G2, because of the sugar content.

I drink Powerade zero, Vitamin Water zero and propel zero. I think your Nut is a nut! Find something you like and get your fluids.

My doctors list did say poweraid zero but my nutritionist said no just stick to Water. I'm just going to go get some poweraid zero for now that's easier to find. Thanks!!

Thank you. It's a natural sweetener that doesn't make me run to the bathroom after using it. Lol

I was not allowed to drink Gatorade G2 due to the total carbs.

They have suggested Vitamin Water, Crystal Light, Mio, unsweeten decafe tea, decafe coffee. (Today, I have "cheated") I have ordered an unsweeten tea from McDonalds (which I do believe has cafeine in it but I was dragging butt this morning sooo bad, I had to have something (espically since I work 2nd shift.)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
