.....eating slowly. I still can barely bother sitting down at the table because I won't be there that long. It's like I find eating slightly annoying, so I want to get it over with as quickly as possible.

me too. Mugh

Craving salty Snacks. I had so hoped that my tastebuds would change post-op and I would hate things like popcorn and chips. Nope.

Craving salty Snacks. I had so hoped that my tastebuds would change post-op and I would hate things like popcorn and chips. Nope.

That's easy: Roasted and salted soy nuts Crunchamame The Good Bean garbanzo Snacks Mixed nuts (salted is fine) Jerky Ostrim turkey sticks

My bugaboo is eating slowly, like everyone else. Dang, I wish I could get the hang of it. I even have a timer.

Eating too fast. I know, not very original. I am the worst when it comes to taking my time to eat.

not sure what food stage your at but you can make chicken wings in the oven that taste better than fast food ones and lots of other fast food stuff you can make a healthy version so you don't feel ripped off.

Struggling with Vitamins too and thinking of maybe switching to regular vitamins so I at least want to take it. The bariatric ones taste gross, chalky and take forever to dissolve. I've started dreading having these pills in my mouth for up to an hour before dissolving

My surgeon and nutritionist have always said that two Flintstone's chewable vitamins are just fine. At least you don't have to wait for them to dissolve and they taste OK. :)

I take 1 Flintstone's Complete per day. Make sure you get the Complete version in the purple bottle. They include minerals.

For the late night thing, I keep some of the SF 30cal pops around from liquid phase. If its not a sweets thing i have cauliflower or radishes for crunch. But sometimes that upsets Thor, God of Thunder, that lives in my belly.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
