Neggie 4 Posted March 5, 2014 It has been a week and two days since my surgery. Things are going better now. First few days I had a lot of gas/heartburn but that has seem to be much better these last three days. Still a little pain at the port site, but getting better. Not as painful getting up and down out of chairs and bed and can sleep on my back and left side. I have tried the right side a couple of times but still causes pain where the port is. I am on full liquids til Monday and then I will start soft foods. I am definitely ready for that, even if it is just 1/2 to a cup Since the pre-op Optifast diet I have lost 22 pounds!!! That is exciting! I can definitely tell the difference! I am excited for all of us as we begin our new life!! I wish us all continued success and good results on this life journey! 1 MestizaBander reacted to this

I didn't make the February group, but you all are like family so I wanted to share with you all that after playing circus poodle for the insurance company I finally got my surgery date! I'll be banded April 1st. Thanks again for your support on this journey. I love you all. Any tips or thoughtful insite or things you wish you had known before surgery that you care to share would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again for everything! ♥ 2 MestizaBander and starfish n coffee reacted to this
fatty2hottie 57 Posted March 7, 2014 My husband says he thinks my breath has a funky odor since being banded, any one else experience this? It's the ketones that do it from a high Protein, low carb diet. Mouthwash and brush teeth.
scubachick 58 Posted March 7, 2014 Good luck on the April 1 date! That is my first fill date!! I am doing good. I noticed that I wore the same tshirt to work today that I took some before pics in on day 1 of the pre-op 10 day diet. Definite difference in one month plus a few days. This is an XL tshirt. 2 fatty2hottie and MestizaBander reacted to this

Awesome! I can see the weight you have lost so far. Good job! Does your port still swell or get hard like a gold ball? My first fill is on the 18th and I'm kind of nervous. fatty2hottie 57 Posted March 8, 2014 I can't tell just yet if I need one. Im actually satisfied now but that can change in the next 2 weeks. I have noticed a lot of hunger between meals and not feeling satisfied after a meal. I have no Fluid in my band right now, and the swelling has gone down quite a bit. fatty2hottie 57 Posted March 8, 2014 Have you starred mushies yet? Oh and is your port area swollen still? I started mushies yesterday. I am still adjusting to them. As for my port site, it's feeling better. I went in to my surgeons office on Wednesday because I was concerned with how my incision was healing. The nurse looked and said I had a knot and then cut it. I haven't felt port pain since.
MestizaBander 43 Posted March 8, 2014 (edited) I started mushies yesterday. I am still adjusting to them. As for my port site, it's feeling better. I went in to my surgeons office on Wednesday because I was concerned with how my incision was healing. The nurse looked and said I had a knot and then cut it. I haven't felt port pain since. Oh ok then... My hunger started going away when I started mushies. Hopefully you don't have a hard time on them. I felt like a normal person again and weight started to drop then too. My port doesn't hurt but it still swells up off and on throughout the day. Edited March 8, 2014 by MestizaBander

scubachick 58 Posted March 10, 2014 Yeah, probably the bending over was too much with gardening. I go on April 1st for my first fill.
