My crazy scale sent me into panic mode!

Recommended Posts

I've been on a roll lately, losing weight through the holidays like a champ. I've even progressed from weighing myself EVERY day...to every few days or so is about the norm for me these days. However, to my shock and almost horor, the scale told me I'd lost 10lbs. in 2 or 3 days. Now, had I just started out on this journey, it would be cause for celebration but considering I am almost to my goal, to drop a substantial amount of weight that quickly and without any change in routine would be a bit alarming for me. I stepped off, waited for it to reset on three different occasions...the scale said he same 146.4. I accepted it and vowed to start paying attention to what I was eating and drinking because I was obviously TOO good at this thing.

I'm happy to say that when I weighed myself this morning, I was at a more reasonable weight - I've still lost about a pound, but not TEN! Yikes!

Is that a battery operated scale? If so maybe it is time for a battery change. I had a similar issue and it turns out it was the batteries.

PT that happens to me too but it's usually the other direction! Also...the time of day you weight can change the number drastically and if the battery is failing all bets are off :)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
