I'm pre-sleeve right now, but reading up and preparing.

I have been on Ideal Protein diet and used Syntrax Nectars to replace the costly Ideal Protein packs: you can order a bunch of sample packs through Nashua Nutrition: https://www.nashuanutrition.com/store/protein-powders/syntrax-nectar-grab-n-go-12-servings.html

There are lots of bariatric Protein Drink choices on this site.

For Syntrax: I love Twisted cherry, vanilla Bean Torte, Cappuccino, Double-Stuffed Cookie and Crystal Sky.

I'm stocking up on a variety of flavors for my pre-surgery/post-surgery liquid diet.

Premier Protein chocolate has my ENTIRE family now using them for a meal - reasonably close in taste/texture to chocolate milk.

You can get the Premier Protein chocolate at Wal-Mart

Thanks for the suggestion. I just ordered a bunch of samples of the Syntrax from Nashua Nutrition. They were less than $2 each so I can try them before wasting a ton of money. I hope they are as good as the Ideal Protein chocolate shake. I haven't had one yet that can top it.

ive tried over 10 different brands of Protein. my new favorite is body fortress chocolate whey isolate. at 130 calories and 30g of Protein along with the best tasting chocolate from all the ones ive tried, its my fav. and only $20 at Amazon. give it a try as it mixes well and really has a great chocolate taste.

I am looking for a clear Liquid Protein drink that tastes good, right now I have Dymatize Nutrition ISO-100 Hydrolyzed it's 100 percent whey Protein isolate and mixed with Water but am not entirely sure it is considered a " clear protein" drink

Isopure makes a line of clear Protein Drinks. The numbers are great. I found the taste revolting but some people like them. I found I could choke them down if I mixed them half and half with G2 or light fruit juice. I drank a lot of it immediately post op, because I figured it didn't matter whether I liked it, it only mattered that I was able to get my liquids and Proteins down. Eventually I was able to move on to tastier stuff and all that Isopuke seems like a bad dream now!

So I guess it's safe not to even bother with Isopure right! Thanks for the honest feedback. Saved me the time of messing with this.

I would taste them yourself post op. I'm another that did not like it, but many do.

My fav Protein powder was GNC gold Standard whey in French vanilla. Pre-op I liked it in chocolate, but post-op I only liked it in Vanilla.

I really love Isopure Protein drink which is more like Kool-aid, not at all milky or like a shake. It has 40 grams of protein per 20 oz. bottle, no aspartame and 160 calories. I try to drink one/day to stay hydrated and it really helps to get my protein in. I love the Alpine Punch, Grape Frost, and Blue Raspberry; the Mango Peach is okay and Icy Orange is horrible. I buy at my local GNC for about $3.64/bottle after discounts. It's worth it. This is not the same as the Isopure Protein powders.< /p>

Isopure makes a very high quality zero carb powder that is highly recommended by many health nut forums. It's all I drink. I order mine from Amazon since it's half the cost of GNC and has a ton of flavors. I'm 15 months out and still have one for Breakfast and one for lunch. I have learned to customize and mix flavors to come up with awesome shakes that I never get sick of. I always carry a baby formula dispenser with unflavored in it, drop your favorite crystal light or mio in it and you're good to go! I make iced coffee "Starbucks style" drinks with them as well. Moral of the story from my experience, buy smaller portions of a bunch of flavors and get creative!

I attached the label from strawberry since that's the container I have at work.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
