Is it normal to feel kind of weak? I know I am only 6 days post op but I just feel really sluggish. I am on an all clear liquid diet so I hope it is just that. I am trying to get up and walk as much as I can and I wonder if I am doing enough of that. However I am type 1 diabetic and my blood sugars have not been under 250 since surgery so I know that is also playing a factor in my being tired.

Yes I do feel weak at times, especially the first few weeks post op. Just hang in there. I went on a trail hike yesterday and walked two miles. I did bring a

string cheese to eat long the way for additional energy.

I had my surgery 17 days ago on Dec. 26. I still have no energy. I am type one diabetic and have not had any trouble with my blood sugar, I am on the insulin pump. I am now taking about 50% less insulin now. I feel ok just exhausted all the time. I sure hope the energy level will come back soon. I go to the DR. and NUT tomorrow I will discuss it with them. Hope you start felling better soon.

Acampbell, my husband has had significant drops in blood pressure since our sleevings less than 2 months ago Caution, he has passed out in the shower because of the low blood pressure, which really has left him feeling tired and weak. I think the dreary winter weather that has kept us inside also contributes to us feeling blah with no energy. I agree, being on liquids also is not giving you boosts of energy. Relax, I think you will be feeling great when you get on the mushy/pureed foods! Best wishes!

Hey there,

I am six days out as well. I'm almost completely off the pain meds (except for at night to sleep) and am on a clear liquid diet plus Protein Shakes. I wake up feeling tired and sluggish and have taken a two to three hour nap every day. In the hospital I got hardly any rest (the hospital is not a place for sleeping). I'm trying to walk as much as I can (I got in a half mile yesterday) and I think that helps a bit. It's normal to feel tired. Our bodies have gone through a lot in the past few days; remember, we're missing 85% of a major organ! Take it easy and good luck!

I am 1 month out today and folks my energy is still low -- it's gotten better from week 2-3 but its still rather low and I still get lightheaded from time to time but that was way worse during weeks 2 and 3

I try to keep my Water and Protein up but some days I fall asleep early due to fatigue and miss out on more Fluid intake - it's tough

Seeing doc and nut tomorrow but wish I could get a shot for more energy some days

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

      2. BlondePatriotInCDA

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
