Shoe size changed?

Recommended Posts

Absolutely, mine did! I used to be a 9 double wide. Now I take an 8 narrow.

Yes I went from 10.5/11 wide to 9.5 reg, during my first weight loss. I think once I have the sleeve surgery and get down to my goal, whatever that might be (for me it s feeling not a number) I think my shoe size will be about a 9. That's a big change and of course shoes in that size start to get cuter! Fun non scale victories!

Funny... I can't wear ANY of my shoes anymore and am just buying cheap ones for now because I still have about 58 lbs to go.

I'm down a size and regular instead of wide... I even bought a kids pair last week! its a great feeling - and to think that I thought that shoes were the only thing I could buy before that were 'normal' and now I'm even growing out of all the ones I had, in the right direction :)

From a 10.5 to a 9. It's crazy, I was NOT expecting it and actually found myself having to grieve for shoes! Lol

Ridiculous, I know, but when I was big shoes became sort of my fashion indulgence. I may have had limited plus size clothing options, but I could always get beautiful shoes. It was very hard saying goodbye to some of them! Not that I would have it any other way of course!

Sometimes when I am at yoga and in a forward fold I find myself staring at my feet and thinking " OMG I actually have skinny feet" they fascinate me. I never, ever realised I had fat feet!

This is such an interesting thread! I'm actually having problems with my feet and have been in AFOs since before my sleeve. When my podiatrist last measured my feet, they were a 12EE (double wide), but when I was cast for therapeutic shoes last week, one foot was a 10.5 standard, and the other was an 11 wide. Not quite six weeks out, and I'm already experiencing foot changes. Wonder what my feet will be like in 80 pounds or so!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
